Why couldn't Katie Holmes have had lunch at Joan's on Third when I was there during LA Fashion Week?! Oh well. The actress took a break from gowns and opted for a more down-to-earth look for the afternoon.

Some trends take a while to warm up to. Such was the case with turning Japanese. Don't get me wrong: I love sushi, martial arts films and Memoirs of a Geisha, I just haven't found any items that suit me from "The Land of the Rising Sun."
