Fab Finding Follow-Up: Open Mic Night

This week, I'm heading to the local bar for open mic night. No, I won't be the one on stage - the only singing I do is in the shower - but my friend will be showing off his sweet voice. If you've been to an open mic, you know it's all about looking artsy, comfy, and cool. I asked you to help me figure out a fresh 'fit - let's see what you came up with!

It's the crème de la crème of outerwear. She'll have no problem crushing the bone-chilling temperatures and gusty winds in this leather baby. Yes, such buttery soft goodness is pricey, but think of it as a lifetime investment. You know I will. Side note: how sexy is it to don a mini underneath it all?

Style Glossary: Crêpe de Chine

Crêpe de Chine

Literally means "crepe of China" in French. A soft, lightweight, plainwoven fabric with a crinkled effect. It's produced either with all-silk warp and weft or with a silk warp and hard-spun worsted weft. Crêpe de chine textures of artificial silk are common these days and are often difficult to distinguish from true silk. French designer Madeleine Vionnet used crêpe de chine, a fabric that was unusual in women's fashion of the '20s and '30s.

Trend Alert: Denim Vests

If it weren't for Kate Bosworth's denim vest by Current & Elliot, her gray tee would fall flat; pairing it with this essential piece pulls everything together in a snap. Pretty cool, huh? I like to wear my denim vests with frocks and billowy tops for a sweet, Bohemian vibe, but if that's not your thing, try it with a tank or simple tee, a la Bossie. However you do it, I guarantee hotness.

Fab Finding Follow-Up: Midnight Bowling Madness

Last weekend, I entertained my friends with my bowling skills, or rather, my lack thereof. After a late dinner, we headed over to the local alley for some midnight bowling.
