Get the Prettiest Rose-Petal Pink Lips From Milan

This weekend in Milan, bold lips got a feminine makeover thanks to makeup artist Peter Philips's saturated rose mouths at Jil Sander. "It's strong, but delicate at the same time," he said of the look backstage. To play up the color's ladylike appeal, Philips used a soft pink lip pencil to create "a classic shape" with the models' mouths. Then, he painted them with a rose-petal pink lipstick using a small fluffy brush. (Try tracing just inside the edge of the lips with Bobbi Brown Lip Liner in Rose before adding Giorgio Armani Rouge d'Armani in 508 on top.)

One more trick to pulling off the look: Keep skin looking matte and even-toned, says Philips, who used Chanel Vitalumière Aqua Ultra-Light Skin Perfecting Makeup SPF 15 foundation on the skin and skipped blush altogether.

Last night, we got a front-row look at Hollywood's best and brightest dressed in their Oscars best, but across the pond - namely, Milan - Fashion Week is still going strong. There, we're being treated to a different, albeit equally cool, brand of front-row style. It's a mix of zany couture, downtown chic-and-tailored, and the fashion-forward, thanks to the likes of Anna Dello Russo, Chloë Moretz, and Taylor Tomasi Hill. We also spotted Helen Mirren rocking a fierce floral frock at Dolce & Gabbana and Caroline Issa looking too cute in cropped coral trousers on her way into Missoni. Giorgio Armani delivered the art of slick suiting and a master class in bold color for Fall 2012. We're not just mesmerized by the double and triple vision stunts Armani pulled on his catwalk - though the sight of two or three models in the same sharp suiting, brilliant fuchsia and orange, and slick fedoras really drives the point home. Still, even without the "special effects," the collection is built up in confidence. Strong shapes and new silhouettes - like a return to longer menswear-style shorts paired with vibrant ladylike jackets and bold color-infused woven knits - result in something all at once androgynous and insanely glam. That's largely due to the fact that these Fall looks are saturated in hot pinks, purples, and orange; the palette is drama-inducing in itself - but add to that the luxuriousness of fur, crystal embellishment, and vibrant abstract print, and the resulting styles start to run into diva territory. There are few people, save for Anna Dello Russo or Lady Gaga, who could pull off a cotton-candy-feeling fur coat - fortunately the collection is also much more wearable than that. Gray suiting adorned with rosettes and finished with oxfords has a snappier feel than the lavishness of his color-saturated fur, and that's the bread and butter here: sportier evening themes and rich color play.

Trends: Colored fur, slick fedoras, colorblocking, menswear, shorts cropped just above the knee, gloves, textured woven knits, abstract print, and sequins.
Colors: Red, black, hot pink, orange, purple, and gray.
Key Piece: The sequined coat has just the right slinky, sexy quality to it; we're taken with Armani's colorblocked hot-pink oxfords.
Accessories: Cutout gloves, wide-brim fedoras, layered statement necklaces, colored oxford kicks, slick clutches.
Who Would Wear It: The risk-taker with an eye for sharp silhouettes and statement color; Anna Dello Russo could rock the hot-pink fur - but she may just be about the only one who can.

Dean and Dan Caten took it back to senior year of high school for their DSquared2 Fall 2012 collection. The '60s-inspired collection came complete with retro teased hair, cigarettes, and even a gym floor catwalk. "We love telling a story," said the designing duo, when describing the elaborate set. "You get where we're coming from." The collection featured wearable pieces for every personality ranging from skinny rolled-up jeans and glazed leather separates for the rebel child to fitted cardigans and printed pencil skirts for the goodie goodie. For the prom queen, Dean and Dan Caten showed a range of black party dresses embellished with feathered peplums and rhinestones. Highlights included an embellished strapless dress worn by Lindsey Wixson, who, by the way, walked down the runway with her dapper date in an equally intriguing white tuxedo jacket.
