Oh, Monet. You're relatively incognito, but when you do show your face - and bod - it's refreshing and ultra styley. The actress did some shopping in London in a casual gray monochrome 'fit. Her gold-studded Topshop sweater already has me obsessed, and her faded gray jeans are rugged chic. Neutral accessories, including tan Louboutin pumps, a gold ball ring, and an adorable knit beret, are spot-on. Happy shopping, Monet!

2009 Cannes Film Festival: Tilda Swinton

Wahoo - the 2009 Cannes Film Festival has begun! It was just reported the lavish festival will be toned down this year - Vanity Fair dismissed its black-tie annual and Louis Vuitton didn't book its usual table at the amfAR dinner - but we can still expect fashion on the red carpet from the likes of Diane Kruger, Penelope Cruz, and the enigmatic Tilda Swinton.

Tilda is up first for your judging pleasure. Her monochrome bordeaux layered Haider Ackermann ensemble may also be toned down, but it sure is flattering. Doesn't she look so tall and statuesque? And the mix of materials is lovely.

This is just the amuse-bouche. Look forward to fetes hosted by Dolce & Gabbana and Dsquared2, guaranteed to provide controversial fashion fare.

This Week's Fab Favorite: Victoria Beckham

You gotta hand it to her. Even with Paris Fashion Week and therefore fabulous people bedecked in designer duds, I am smitten by Victoria's cool and collected navy monochrome 'fit. From her captain cap to her Louis Vuitton Luxotica heels, no one does monochrome quite like VB. She dusted off some zippered navy dVb jeans and revealed some sexy decolletage via a sheer navy tank. A femme navy cardigan added softness to the sharp ensemble. Leaving her London hotel, I'm dying to know where she went - shopping, perhaps? Nah, I bet she had some meetings to discuss her highly successful dress collection. What's your favorite part of this? My instinct goes with the funkadelic shoes, but the mad hat is an added bonus. Makes me want to raid my navy pieces all over again.

Ginnifer Goodwin attended the LA premiere of He's Just Not That Into You in an ensemble that dimmed her costars in comparison. The actress chose a look from Bottega Veneta's Spring '09 collection. What a stunning choice. I adore the pumpkin-colored strapless dress, but what I love more are her accompanying accessories. The amber statement necklace, tan Bottega clutch, and strappy sandals make the outfit - complementary without being matchy matchy.

This Week's Fab Favorite: Rosario Dawson

Rosario in Bottega. A winning combination. We were pleasantly surprised by Rosario's choice to wear this monochrome Bottega Veneta look to the LA premiere of her new movie Seven Pounds. Rarely do stars attempt monochrome, and sexy monchrome at that. The camel one-sleeve crepe dress is a rare find, but the fact that it complements her skin tone so perfectly is what sealed the deal. Her crisscrossed camel Jimmy Choo sandals continued the fluid movement. To be sure she wasn't washed out, exotic Neil Lane for Arcade turquoise earrings framed her beautiful face. Speaking of framing her beautiful face, learn how to create the illusion of short hair. The other jewelry - thin gold bangles - gently sat on her wrist. Perfection personified.

Look of the Day: Miss Monochrome

Colorful ensembles have their appeal, but monochrome has a special place in my heart. Something about pairing like hues in different fabrics and textures really works. Mindorena, AKA Miss Monochrome, knows exactly what I mean. She's rocking a gray outfit polished off with gray pearls. The black flats and belt provide some contrast. Fab!

Sneak Peek! Banana Republic Fall '08 Collection

I know Spring and Summer are on your mind, but switch your mindset for a second because Banana Republic's Fall '08 collection is way desirable. Despite the gloomy weather that accompanies autumn, it's making me look forward to bundling up and layering.

You'll notice this collection is mostly monochrome, with sprinkles of red to surprise the eyes. On the outerwear front, there are lots of greys, extra-long cardigans, cropped pea coats, and slick leather trenches. The trousers are mostly skinny, checkered, and menswear-ish. Fall's frocks come with lots of personality: Prada-inspired lace dress (left), red taffeta sheaths, and sleek LBDs. Tie-front styles and berets are also prevalent for Fall.

Kate Bosworth - All Black and All Fierce

Forget about Mary . . . there's something about Kate. Her fashion sense is the perfect combination of effortless and put-together. She's never disheveled, but never too polished, either. Just when her Etro ethnic-print dress inspired me to wear more prints, she did a 180 and went the all-black route. But I'm not mad at her; in fact, she's now made me want to explore the dark side of my closet. Soon enough, her monochrome streak will turn colorful, so let's take a little walk through Kate's all black and all fierce looks.
