Trend Alert: The Light Denim Moto

Motorcycle-inspired jackets will always remain a cult classic. They give off just the right amount of bad girl attitude without looking overly boyish. Since leather and suede versions won't do in the warm weather (think hot and sweaty), we're moving over to the light denim moto. This lightweight fabric and cooler hue will undoubtedly be a Spring staple. Wear it with a dress - a la Kate Bosworth in Paul & Joe Sister - for a funky femme vibe, or go total hard-core and pair it with denim skinnies and a pair of need-now heels.

Something about a motorcycle-style jacket in a luxurious knit fabric is so appealing. This T Tahari Genevieve Jacket ($118) is cool enough to wear to a bar, and sharp enough to sport at work. The asymmetrical zip and leather-trimmed pockets set the tone. The price isn't horrendous, but I found a similar-looking jacket for way less.

The Look For Less: Candela Suede Motokera Jacket

Have you noticed the recent surge of stylish aviator jackets? Perhaps Amelia-inspired? This Candela Suede Motokera Jacket ($595, originally $850) is super cool - I adore the charcoal hue - but the price stings real bad. Moving on . . .

True, this Forever 21 Fleece Trim Moto Jacket ($35) isn't made from real leather, but for that price, I can deal. It has a rugged aviator feel, but with a tailored edge. Plus I like the combination of the cocoa-colored leather and the ivory fleece. The best part is, since the fleece collar is removable, it's two jackets in one. I'm all for getting more bang for your buck!

The Look For Less: Mike & Chris Dusted Bronze Leather Jacket

I've been drooling over Mike & Chris leather jackets for quite a while, but the duo's latest design has me in a daze. This Mike & Chris Bronze Leather Jacket ($885) is très chic.

Metallic? Check. Leather? Check. I really need this awesome jacket but yikes! The price tag will leave me in financial agony. That leaves me with one choice. Find something cheaper, of course.

Now that's much better. This Spiegel Cropped Metallic Leather Jacket ($109, originally $129) is still awfully cute and much more affordable. I like how the scarf collar adds a sophisticated touch to the sheeny texture.

Kristen Stewart Goes Casual Before Her Fashion Moment at the Met Gala

Kristen Stewart dressed in flat back boots and a leather motorcycle jacket leaving her NYC hotel today. She looked relaxed and ready to make a grand entrance at tonight's star-studded Met Gala. Kristen's been on the go in recent days following a short visit to Vancouver last week to shoot new Breaking Dawn Part 2 footage with Robert Pattinson and a Friday night appearance on The Tonight Show.

Kristen revealed she suffered an injury on set while filming in the woods, so she may be forced to stick with flats tonight when she arrives at the Met Gala. She's expected to wear a gown from Balenciaga, but we'll have to wait and see if her foot is well enough to climb the stairs in stilettos. Last night's amfAR gala in NYC brought out a roster of celebrities and models to toast the AIDS-fighting charity on the eve of Fashion Week. Fall 2012 Fashion Week begins today, but there were plenty of gorgeous gowns on display yesterday. Host Sarah Jessica Parker donned a pink Oscar de la Renta gown, which she paired with a leather motorcycle jacket and white gloves while posing for pictures. Leighton Meester broke from filming Gossip Girl to hit the carpet in Louis Vuitton, while other ladies like Julianne Moore, Cindy Crawford, and Elizabeth Hurley wore Roberto Cavalli. Even Leonardo DiCaprio's current squeeze, Erin Heatherton, stepped out in Cavalli. It was Heidi Klum's first public event post-split from husband Seal, and she too wore Cavalli.The guests were treated to dinner, an auction, and performances from Theophilus London and Janelle Monáe.

Sarah Michelle Gellar held her daughter Charlotte's hand as she picked her up from ballet lessons yesterday in LA. The Ringer star sported an Alexander McQueen scarf and a leather jacket as she and Charlotte headed home. Charlotte even took a style cue from mom, adding a pair of black motorcycle boots to her pink leotard and tutu! The duo have been stepping out to do some holiday shopping this month, and Charlotte also recently joined her mom for a day on the set of her CW show. SMG, Charlotte, and Freddie Prinze Jr. are gearing up for a bit of a break over the holiday season with Ringer taking a hiatus from the airwaves until January 31. The series was initially scheduled to return on January 10, but was delayed slightly - along with 90210 - to make room for some of the network's brand-new shows.

The costume: Catwoman
Batman's sexy nemesis/paramour has been a sexy costume staple since the 1960s (when the lovely Eartha Kitt played her on TV), and she shows no signs of fading away. Plus, as long as you have an all-black outfit, cat ears, and a mask, she's a really easy character to put together. Do it this year, before everyone copies Anne Hathaway's Catwoman from next year's The Dark Knight Rises.

Hair and makeup: Black kitty cat ears, of course, and a black mask, with plenty of red lipstick and black eye shadow. Also, sexy hair is a must, preferably curls or big retro volume.

What to wear: Black leggings, black gloves, black boots, and a tight black motorcycle jacket or long-sleeved top.

Take it to the next level: Add Catwoman's "claws" by gluing or pressing on some super-long acrylic tips. You can even paint them red for extra feline flair.
