I've always wanted to meet the man behind my favorite Alexis Bittar jewels - I finally had the pleasure to do so at his recent Neiman Marcus trunk show. Alexis filled us in on what's going on in his world right now. He's one busy bee; his San Francisco stay was for a mere 10 hours because he had to fly to Vancouver for an appearance at Holt Renfrew. He revealed his jewelry philosophy and discussed the dope spiked bracelet Alicia Keys wore recently . . .

What’s the latest and greatest goings on?

I just finished Spring, we showed at Paris Fashion Week. We showed at Tranoi, which is a show there. I designed three collections under Alexis Bittar, and three other collections for other designers. I did Alexis Bittar for Michael Kors, we did glass, it’s all clear. And I did Michael Angel, he’s kind of a younger designer. I met him through the girls at Vogue. In a week, doing Victoria’s Secret.

2010 Spring Paris Fashion Week: Stella McCartney

This is Stella's party and she'll dress her women how she wants to! That's precisely what the British designer did, as friends like Gwyneth Paltrow and Charlotte Casiraghi looked on. Stella's Spring creations remind that she is a multi-faceted woman, full of life and passion for fashion. She continues to appreciate neutrals and lace, but is now also totally exuberant. The major show-stealers are accordion-pleated ruffles and bright, juicy colors like royal blue, fuchsia, and orange.

Parts of this collection reminded me of her past - crisp high-waisted trousers, oversized blazers, camel hues - but so much of it was fresh. A one-piece bathing suit, a developing Spring trend made its way onto the catwalk, as did dramatically sexy blouses, maxi dresses, lace halter tops, and mini boy shorts. A few denim pieces also took part, but in a less modern, more vintage manner. Whether you're feeling elegant, sassy, boyish, or shy, look no further than Stella Spring '10.

Trend Alert: Strut Like an Egyptian

Here's the thing - I'm a pretty anti-sequel kind of gal. Why mess with perfection? Filming for Sex and the City 2 has begun, and though I may be skeptical about the movie, I'm not about the wardrobe. And really, that's half (more than half?) of what made the first SATC movie faboo. So . . . I can be swayed. Especially after seeing Carrie's first outfit from the film: what appears to be a Halston Heritage white dress, gold glitter Louboutins, gold mirrored aviators, and Carrie strutting like an Egyptian with her stunning multi-faceted necklace. What a stunner. Jump on this new jewelry trend before it hits theaters.

If the ocean's most sassy mermaid came to land, Findemaxa's 'fit is what she would rock. The turquoise and black dress is the perfect blend of sea and sand, and the Valentino bag adds further plushness to the mix. Fab Flash: Gwyneth Paltrow, Fashion Designer

Gwyneth Paltrow is giving us the GOOP on her latest endeavor: fashion design. That's right, people, the jack of all trades has teamed up with French jersey brand, Zoe Tee’s, to create a clothing line called Zoe Tee’s Loves Gwyneth Paltrow. "Gwyneth's style fits perfectly with the brand," said Laure Pariente, creative director of Zoe Tee's. "She knows how to mix basics and give jersey a stylish edge."

The collection, inspired by her own style, '70s rock glamour, and menswear, will include tees, dresses and leggings made out of cashmere blends, recycled cotton, and wool mesh. Interested? Gwyneth Paltrow for Zoe's Tees debuts in the Fall with a second collection to follow next Spring. All proceeds will be donated to Kids Company, a charity Paltrow selected. There's no stopping the multifaceted star!

Fall Glimpse: Not Your Grandma's Lace

When the Fall shows were unfolding - when Winter chills were every which where - I showed you a representative look from the Prada runway. And I can say that look was representative of the Fall collection, as it was demure with dramatic, keen lace detailing. As to whether you liked it or not, that was nearly a tie.

But I bet you'll like this racey, lacey look from the Balmain runway. Lace, a traditional yet complex fabric, has been given a serious reevaluation; this is not your grandma's lace. This is 2008 lace - modern, mixed, and multifaceted.
