Which Model Is Most Fab at NARS's 15X15 Party?

NARS's 15X15 soiree, hosted by Marc Jacobs and Daphne Guinness, brought out a bevy of beautiful models to NYC. While Daphne went galactic, the PYTs opted for something sexier. Julie Henderson looked sweet in a strapless pink print frock; Selita wowed in purple Balmain; Anja emoted sultry pirate power; Heather opted for Balmain's spiky studs; and Lisa Marie Smith took the avant-garde route. Decisions, decisions: which stunner is most Fab?

Nars' Fame Lipstick Palette Helps AIDS Research

Nars has just released their latest palette called Fame. But this palette is different from the rest. It consists of the very first twelve lipsticks that Francois Nars ever made back in 1995. He has 50 signed copies of them that are being sold exclusively at Henri Bendel in NYC for $75 and half of the proceeds on each palette sold will be donated to AmFar.

Fame was released the night of the NARS Ten Year Photography Event at Bendel's. The lipsticks range from pinks, reds and neutrals and the specific colors are: Blonde Venus, Heatwave, Funny Face, Honolulu Honey, Jungle Red, Shanghai Express, Red Lizard, Scarlet Empress, Casablanca, Trans Siberian, Transeurope Express & Morocco.

Each can be worn alone or blended together to create your own unique shade. It's pretty sweet, but if you are a ponderer, there's not much time, so act fast.

Mr. Nars is a Famed Photog

On Tuesday night, I had the pleasure of attending an event for Francois Nars held on the ground floor of the swanky boutique department store, Henri Bendel in New York City. Although Mr. Nars had left long before I arrived, I did enjoy meeting all of the friendly gals I've been speaking and emailing with for months over at Nars Cosmetics.

The event was an exhibition honoring the work of Francois Nars. What I learned is that not only is he the head of NARS, but he's also quite a talented photographer. This soiree was put together to commemorate a compilation of ten years of NARS ad campaign images.

The event team transformed the store into an art gallery and had pictures on display as well as giant cubes hanging from the ceiling with different photos on each side. The hosts of the event were Lydia Hearst, Dayle Haddon and Amy Wesson and supposedly Avril Lavigne, Linda Evangelista and Tinsley Mortimer were set to arrive, but I did not see them there.

I did however get to speak with fashion designer Anait Bain and our talk ended with her complimenting my jacket - yay! I also walked away with a fab NARS Jaipur candle that you will certainly be hearing more about!

NARS Charming Spring 2007 Makeup Collection

Yay! As I am sure you already know, NARS is one of my all time favorites. They have released their new NARS Spring 2007 Collection and these editions are sooooo cool! For one, they've named an eyeshadow duo Sugarland! Coincidence? There has been some speculation...

The line is called 'charmed' and charming it is. It is filled with wearable, fresh, light and sparkly colors that focus on brightening your eyes and lips. It consists of eight new products including: three eye shadow duos (two powder, one cream), a lip gloss, lip pencil, two lipsticks and a face primer.

Thebes Duo Creme Eyeshadow, $31, is a sheer silver and gold set of shadows. Sugarland Duo Eyeshadow, $31, consists of sparkling apricot and a fun, gilded orchid pink color. Habanera Duo Eyeshadow, $31, is the third shadow set which includes: a mint frost and a sparkling charcoal plum.

There are two lipsticks; Corinthe, $23, a sheer almond color and Tuttu Frutti, $23, a candied bright strawberry color. NARS Blush in Orgasm is without a doubt one of the most popular cheek shades of all time. Whether its allure comes from the naughtiness of the name or the universally flattering shade, the blush-and its corresponding lip gloss-has earned a strong cult-like following among women of all ages. Lip Gloss Lament

As you know, I love lip gloss, but the addiction is also the source of one of my biggest pet peeves: leaky lip-gloss caps. This is a vexing problem that plagues one of my favorite products: the shimmery nude NARS Lip Gloss in Sandpiper, which is available for $23 here. No matter how much I wipe off the excess lip gloss before applying it, a little bit of it always oozes out when I put the cap back on, turning the tube into a smeary mess. Back in my make-up bag, the lip gloss ends up getting pink sparkly goo all over everything.

But really, when I'm paying more than $20 for a tiny tube of lip gloss, it is too much to ask for a cap that doesn't leak? It's so much trouble to contain the mess I'm considering ditching the gloss, but I love the color oh so much! Do you guys have this problem? If so, share your own lip-gloss gripes below.

How To: Create Fabulous Cheek Contours

If only we could all be born with naturally high and defined cheek bones. Most of us, however, need a little help to get the perfect contour and shape. Here's how to create that model-esque look in three easy steps.

First, apply a foundation that's one or two shades darker than your skin tone to the area of your cheeks that hollows out when you pucker up. Blend well, so that there's no line. I recommend MAC Cosmetics Hooked Bronzing Powder which you can buy here for $19.50.
Next, use a peachy apricot or a brown-based blush on the apples of your cheeks and be sure to blend well. I really like Nars Blush in Gina for medium skin tones or Orgasm for fairer skin. You can buy them here for $25.
Lastly, shine and define. Use a light golden or shimmery yellowish powder on the area right above your cheekbones. One swipe with the brush should be enough for a glowing accent. I recommend Diane Von Furstenberg Eclipse Highlighting Powder in Sunshine. Buy it here for $30.

The sky-high platforms would have made a major statement on their own, but of course, Daphne took it to the next level and committed to the whole space-age ensemble - even her hair looks galactic!
