New York Fashion Week, Fall 2010: Diane von Furstenberg's Top 10 Looks

We always look forward to Diane von Furstenberg's flirty, feminine designs. Fall '10 is creative director Nathan Jenden's last collection with DVF before he embarks on his own line. Never afraid of color, he sent the models down the super slick runway - check out that cool wet effect - in gypsy-inspired velvet tunics, flirty printed frocks, lamé minidresses, and embellished metallic skirts. Tempering the shimmery hues are billowy knit shawls, structured double-breasted blazers, and organza-trimmed cardigans. My favorite ensemble has to be this wild, liquid-like gold lamé dress Natalia Vodianova is wearing. Check out DVF's tenacious top 10 now. Cynthia Steffe has given us more reasons to love its feminine offerings. For Fall '10, creative director Shaun Kearney dreamed up a collection of buttery soft leather, tweed, and delicate silk. Taking on a feminine aviation-inspired theme, he created shift dresses, flirty skirts, and bombers reminiscent of a modern day Amelia Earhart. Thigh-high tights, tweed, and wool also lent a sweet school-girl vibe. For all the party girls, body-con printed minidresses - something for everyone. Rebecca Minkoff's Fashion Week Fun!

Rebecca Minkoff throws one sweet fashion fête. For her Fall '10 NYFW presentation, the designer showed off her new handbag and apparel collection in a fun atmosphere. Celebs, such as Erin Lucas from The City, and fashion folk alike gathered to check out her latest editions - Agyness Deyn even made an off-duty appearance! Clutches, cross-body bags, hobos, and her famous Morning After satchel were updated in vivid red, electric purple, and pink. For rocker girls, the designer supplied darker hues, metallic finishes, and zipper embellishments. Textures a la faux crocodile, quilting, and furry animal prints also inject a luxe touch. Perfect timing. After this Summer, I decided I need a new one piece. Though I am a skimpy bikini girl at heart, there are times when a one piece is in order. Be it a swanky pool party or chillin' poolside with the fam, the return of the one piece is upon us. Brian Reyes sent out delicate seersuckers, Derek Lam posh loungers, even sexy fashion beast Herve Leger turned down the volume with a printed baby-blue laser-cut suit. If anyone can prove one pieces can be equally as sexy as two, it's Michael Kors and his clear plastic cut-out noir creation. If only I could have that model's chiseled cheekbones, too . . .

If anyone can lift American spirits, it's Ralph Lauren. On the last (rainy) day of NYFW, his Depression era-inspired collection did, in fact, leave us on a positive note. Blues in all hues, denim, country florals, navy pinstripes, white cotton, and a couple drop-dead gowns were intensely pretty. And those glittering silver shoes - so fresh against tattered railroad denim. In his notes Lauren said, "I am inspired by the character of the workers, the farmer, the cowboy, the pioneer women of the prairies living authentically through challenging times." History repeats itself; fashion to the rescue.

NYFW Fab Face: Eniko Mihalik

Hungarian model Eniko Mihalik is one to watch. She's currently strutting the New York Fashion Week catwalks like a pro, and she has even made it into the 2010 Pirelli calendar, which is no easy feat. If you don't yet know the 22-year-old, Fashion Week is a good place to start because she's made it into some major shows like Rodarte, Carolina Herrera, and Jason Wu. But her shining moment, in my humble opinion, is this look from Carlos Miele - now that's how to do high-fashion cleavage!
