Fab Blab: Designers Divulge Their 2009 Resolutions

Have you ever been to a boutique opening party? They're so much fun. Meeting new people, rubbing elbows with local designers, and drinking free bubbly really tickles my fancy.

This weekend, my friend Jessica is throwing an opening party for her first boutique. It's going to be intimate and filled with special discounts - what more can a girl ask for? Which Vogue Front Row Shoe Is Most Fab?

When I saw this shoe lineup in the November Vogue, I thought, what a dope shoe editorial. Um, no. This was the front row at Juan Carlos Obando's Fashion Week Spring show. These are not models, these are real life fashion players, their covetable shoes, and their glossy shins. Not only was this issue, with Reese on the cover, a stand out, I simply couldn't stop staring at this candy lineup. Can you? I served up some shoe fare for breakfast yesterday, here's another taste. Let's pick favorites, shall we? For me, it's between the dramatic yellow Balenciagas and the spectacularly shiny Galliano blue corset sandals; I can't pick just one. But you have to!

Rodarte's Death Valley Voodoo Ladies: Love It or Hate It?

Rodarte continues to be a hot ticket at New York Fashion Week. With a unique point of view and celebrity cheerleader Kirsten Dunst, their next moves are closely monitored. I'm always intrigued by their inspirations - in the past it's been Japanese horror movies and Star Wars. For Spring, the Mulleavy sisters took a trip to Death Valley, hence their dusty palette and rugged trimmings. Laura referenced freaky, dark feathery friends: "California condors, the big, bald, black vultures that faced extinction in the late '80s." Aside from the black sand on the runway, the interpretation wasn't too literal - tribal tattooed arms provide some voodoo mystique. Rodarte partnered with Nicholas Kirkwood on their always intense shoes. I'm on the barbwire fence with this once, what about you? Who Wore It Better? Black Sheer, Embellished Chanel

It's pretty hard to go up against Diane Kruger but The Final Destination actress Shantel VanSanten holds her own. Diane first wore this black sheer, embellished Chanel frock to the David Letterman show last week with pointy pumps. Now Shantel wore the shortened version to the LA premiere of her new movie. Her Nicholas Kirkwood shoes, however, are more vulgar, less dainty. Both ladies do Chanel justice, but who wore it better?
