With the Spring 2010 (whoa, 2010 - doesn't that sound so futuristic?) shows in the very near future, it's time to take final glimpses at Fall. What Fab trends will you be delving into? Which hot shoes tickled your fancy? Which heavenly handbags made you pant? During my runway research I accumulated some more favorite looks, stand-out pieces, awe-inspiring jewels, and simply cool honorable mentions. Thakoon's canary fur-collared coat atop luxe black separates is what fashion dreams are made of. Beam me up, Scotty!

"I like your sleeves, they're real big." Little did Napoleon Dynamite know, pouf pieces, like Deb's sleeves, would be in vogue a few years later. We've been experiencing shoulder love for a couple seasons now and we agree shoulder pads are debatable. But for Fall, designers flounced and fluffed fabrics on all sorts of terrain. Front and center on a frock, cascading down a train, at the hip(s), along a hemline, and yes, on shoulders. If the popular shoulder pouf piece is too Dynasty for you, take a cue from the poufiest of the season, Louis Vuitton, and place one, or two, at your hips - dare to go there. Source: Getty

The Bag to Have: Nina Ricci Pony Bag

We all know Nina Ricci delivers amazing clothes but did you know the fashion house also creates comparable handbags? Take for instance this divine Nina Ricci Pony Bag ($2,800) from the new Ondine line. OK, with the exception of celebs - Rihanna was spotted donning the same exact style and Uma Thurman in a similar version from the same collection - and other money-making moguls, no one can really afford the hefty price tag. However, we can appreciate the fine design. I'm lusting over the sleek pony hair texture and chain handle. The best thing about is that it's simultaneously sassy and sleek. Functional and fabulous? It doesn't get any better than this . . .

You know what happens when you put together a mermaid and Coco Rocha? Perfection. I'm sure you can see why sachastar's underwater image has me suffering from major mermaid illusions. Her hues of pearl, ocean blue, and hot pink are spot on and I'm practically drooling over those Azzedine Alaia sandals. The only thing that's missing is me and my bikini. See, told you it was perfection.

2009 Fall Paris Fashion Week: Nina Ricci

It's a shame, really. We were all pretty bummed when we heard the news of Olivier Theyskens leaving the house of Nina Ricci. So what if his creations weren't commercial? His creations were otherworldly, so special. With a lighter touch than most, Theyksens still managed to deliver strong silhouettes and a slightly bent perspective. With a vengeful hand, in his last collection for the house, he stuck it to the man.

I do spy a commercially viable stiff purple metallic coat and a red carpet-worthy eggplant dramatic swirl gown. Oh, and hello hot pink! And there was enough drama for your grandmama via invisi heel platforms, a copper bodysuit, high/low hemlines, and languid pants. Signature Olivier splashes, like trickles of beading and Edwardian jackets, make things extra special. We have no doubt the gentile designer will find the silver lining - may his erstwhile employers eat it up.

I was instantly taken by the majestic photo color me high used for her inspiration piece. The soft rays of sunlight and lush backdrop are perfect for a secret garden party. Such an occasion calls for clothing in the softest colors, floral prints, and stand-out accessories. The two outfits she chose are both beautiful in their own way. Would you wear the ravishing, romantic dress or bodacious sequin jacket and skinny jeans? I know which one I would choose but sshh, it's a secret.

Last night, Renee Zellweger showed her support for ex-Nina Ricci design head Olivier Theyskens and shined in a ravishing red Nina Ricci dress and suede Louboutin pumps. Her sizzling hot look is nothing short of perfection; I like how she added extra dazzle by wearing a bright red cocktail ring. It's simultaneously sultry and sophisticated. Awesome.

Spring Peek: High/Low Hemlines

What's the saying? When the economy is tight, hemlines go up? Yes. So when the economy is really tight, hemlines go into a frenzied high/low hemline state? Apparently. This skirt silhouette, seen mainly on dresses on the Spring runways, is part provocative, part princess. However, Balmain's bondage high/low dresses were positively provocative (left). The princess was spotted at Nina Ricci and its Edwardian frocks and Temperley's dreamy poufy white dress. Just when I thought I'd experimented with every hemline, Spring presents a new one. Rocky economy aside, these are rockin'.
