Paul Smith Recreates Sunnies For Oakley

There's nothing like a pair of cool sunnies, well maybe a pair of hot heels, but sunnies come in a close second. To further feed my addiction, Paul Smith has teamed up with Oakley to create a cool remix of its iconic '86 Oakley Frogskins - the quirky name refers to the rubbery-like finish. I'm pretty smitten with the girly pink hues and the tinted shades. Apparently, these sunnies were a big hit with surfers and skaters back in the day and I'm sure peeps will go ga-ga over them all over again. It certainly caught my attention. If you want a pair, act fast - only 500 pairs are available at Paul Smith shops and its e-commerce site.

Drew is a kid at heart. That is why we love her so. She sported some cutesy pink mirrored lenses in NYC and, while her outfit was super casual, they reminded us of her perky personality. I suspect hers might even be the Oakley for Paul Smith limited editions. Plus, Proenza Schouler sent mirrored shades down their Spring runway. I have a super fun vintage pair - they were my mom's ski shades in the '80s - that are turquoise with silver mirrors. People seem to love them, maybe it's because they can admire themselves in the reflection while attempting to pay attention to me . . .

Fashion Week Quickie: Colette x Gap Sets Up Shop in NYC

If you can't go to Paris, let Paris come to you. That was Gap's mentality when it decided to collaborate with renowned Paris boutique Colette to create a one-month installation in New York City.

The Colette x Gap concept store, adjacent to Gap's flagship store at 54th and 5th Avenue, will operate from Sept. 6 through Oct. 5 and will sell hard-to-find products from around the world. Products include Colette-designed Oakley sunglasses, limited-edition Gap tees with prints by Paris versus New York artists, Repetto BB shoes, and more. This is the first Colette store in the US, but hopefully it won't be the last. Oh, and you know I'll be sure to check it out when I'm in town for Fashion Week.
