Kristen Stewart Style, Post-Twilight, Present-New Moon

Ever since Twilight, we've been watching Bella Swan, I mean, Kristen Stewart, like a hawk. Her street style hasn't changed much - jeans, tee, and leather jacket are her usual M.O. - but her red carpet looks have evolved into something magical. In the beginning of her post-Twilight stardom, the actress shied away from elaborate gowns and funky frocks, but times have changed and so has Kristen. As of late, the star has been dazzling us with head-to-toe designer looks from the likes of Jason Wu, Alexander McQueen, and Oscar de la Renta, to name a few. Hottie Robert Pattinson as arm candy doesn't hurt, either. Is it just me, or is the shy wallflower starting to bloom into an elegant rose? See what I'm talking about!

The New Moon countdown has begun! The second film in the Twilight series comes stateside Friday and the LA premiere sizzled tonight. Kristen opted for a princess-like beaded Oscar de la Renta that complements her sweet side. It looks lovely against her pale skin and a few bangles bring some fun to the mix. The Gossip Girl then furthered her ferosh with a burgundy-quilted bag, gold bangles, and badass Alexandre Birman python booties. I wish my former college ensembles were this hot . . .

I like how Paisley's choices evoke a simultaneously romantic yet seductive mood - fit for a funky princess. I'm a sucker for frothy ruffles; that Camilla and Marc dress looks soft enough to sleep in. Actually 12, if you count the fabulous felt hats and ribbons woven through Heidi braids on the models' heads. Oscar served up one of the most gorgeous collections of the week - he always does. At the same time, the elegant venue and slower pace helped me sit back, relax, and enjoy the throes of fashion. Safari looks gave way to youthful tweed, party frocks, and elegant Spanish Chantilly lace gowns. Oscar's colors are always rich; melon, teal, hyacinth, and peridot mixed with white, blush, and black. Beading and embroidery twinkled every fancy. Jewelry, shoes, belts, and sunglasses were smashing - they elevated the glamour factor. This youthful look makes me smile - wouldn't it be divine on Blair Waldorf?

The hue goes great against her brunette locks and I like how metallic silver accessories increase her sparkle. Indeed, this look is quite different from her usual playtime ensembles and I like it!

Funny girl Leslie Mann graced the red carpet at the LA premiere of Shorts wearing an abstract print dress by Oscar de la Renta and Christian Louboutin Bianca python pumps. We don't see enough celebs donning green and Leslie works it to perfection. The vibrant color complements the strawberry hues in her hair and it also looks amazing against her skin tone. Funky silver and diamond earrings by Siera complete her whiplash appeal.

Fab Finding Follow-Up: Oscar de la Renta Fashion Show in Lake Tahoe (!)

This past weekend was extra special because I attended the Oscar de la Renta fashion show in Lake Tahoe - 'twas fun! It was an annual charity soiree hosted by Saks Fifth Avenue and the League to Save Lake Tahoe, so I needed you to help me seek an elegant ensemble. Fancy, flat sandals were a must and I asked you to layer on the jewels.

I started you off with this Oscar de la Renta Canvas Zebra Cuff ($1,295). Pair it with black bangles and you have a chic, sexy look. Let's see what you came up with!

Look #1, created by nikkeeb, is ethereal and sweet. Oscar would be proud.

Oscar de la Renta Worries, but Wants to Help Keep Tahoe Blue

De la fabulous. I was for real when I said I was heading to Lake Tahoe for Oscar de la Renta's annual fashion show luncheon. Along with Saks Fifth Avenue, and held at the gorgeous Fritz family estate in Sunnyside, the event was like no other. If you've never been to the outdoor haven that is Tahoe and are wondering how Oscar de la Renta's elegant clothes would work, the designer himself wasn't sure at first. He told me "The first time I was told I was going to show on an open space I was worried about evening clothes - are they going to look good on a lake? In fact it looks very wonderful, it translates really well." It's true. Oscar's chic-turned-exotic collection fancied quite well on the stark white Saks runway surrounded by yellow lily-topped tables and mountainous beauty.

The show was followed by an auction and lunch and these people were serious. The highest bid - $22,000 - went toward an Oscar de la Renta New York fashion week package. If I were a richie, I would have bid on a week stay for me and five friends at Oscar's Tortuga Bay villas. Um, yeah.

Oscar took over this event from Bill Blass in 1995 and usually shows his latest Resort collection. The designer's favorite part of this Summer event is spending time in Tahoe. "The lake is unbelievably beautiful, it’s a privilege to spend time here. It's wonderful that people preserve the lake for future generations. I just try to enjoy the lake and be with friends." The event benefits Keep Tahoe Blue, a nonprofit that helps preserve the alpine lake.

Oscar was a pleasure to interview. I caught him before he zoomed away on a speedboat, we chatted in the sun on the pier. He was very elegant and relaxing; I will always envision him in his cornflower blue blazer, olive skin, smiling, with the blue lake and mountains in the background.

Oscar's inspiration is "Always women. Trying to make clothes a woman would fall in love with. Especially in these times. I have never been in a time for a designer as challenging as now, when the consumer is much aware of fashion. The woman, when I started designing clothes for in the '60s, is very different from the woman today. Today she is independent, makes her own decisions, and purchases." Interesting! Oscar is one designer who's creations have transcended generations, a testament to his design skills and consumer savvy. But as Oscar said, it's all about making clothes a woman would fall in love with.

What did Fab fall in love with? The adorable chic tweed suits and hats in the beginning of the show - an ode to the current obsession with all things French. And a black and white ikat print dress; no one does ikat better than Oscar. The purple and white ikat set played a part in my fantasy of Tortuga Bay.
