Trend Alert: Pale Pink Lips at the 2008 ESPY Awards

Can you guess what these pretty ladies at the 2008 ESPY Awards all have in common? Although they aren't the most famous faces we're used to seeing on BellaSugar, each of them has starred in a reality TV show on E!

Kourtney Kardashian's step-dad is Olympian Bruce Jenner, Brittny Gastineau practically has sports in her blood (her estranged father is former NFL player Mark Gastineau) and Kendra Wilkinson is a self-proclaimed sports junkie. For all of these reasons and more, they've come to the ESPYs and they all arrived with pale pink lips.

This sex-kitten pale pink lip trend has been just as popular as the nude lip for nearly half a decade. We've seen it looking super glossy, chalky and opaque and semi-sheer (like in the photos above). What's your favorite pale pink lip product?

Pretty Ways to Spice Up Your Valentine's Day Makeup - Red Lipstick Excluded

Red lipstick has become synonymous with Valentine's Day, but crimson-hued lips don't have to be your only option. "I like a flushed cheek," says Mark celebrity makeup artist Mai Quynh, who recommends getting the look with the brand's Just Pinched Blush Tint in Cheeky or Spicy, depending on your skin tone.

Another way to give your complexion a fresh, fun finish is "to incorporate a pink-toned eye shadow to pop up the eyes in the crease," Quynh explains, recommending Custom Pick Eye Shadow in Sugar Sugar. "Or, you can use pink lips instead of red ones."

And for a brightened effect, finish with a highlighter, such as Touch & Glow Shimmer Cream All Over Face Palette, above your cheekbones and on your brow bone. For something a little warmer, try Glowdacious Illuminating Powder on your forehead, cheeks, and chin. Then all you have to do is watch your suitors line up.  

What We're Sweet On: Lipstick That Does It All

Usually we consider ourselves lucky if a lipstick looks good on us and doesn't make our lips dry like the Sahara. Perhaps our standards are a bit unusual, but we've been doing this a long time. Even hard-eyed beauty editors, though, know a cool find when they see it, and Lola Duo lipstick ($22) is exactly that.

It's a typical columnar lipstick, but each side is a unique shade that works on its own or layered together. Our favorite shade is Strawberry/Cream, a pair of pink shades that are both pretty by themselves, and turn into a soft, sheer berry shade when you mix them.

We also love the little mirror that pops out of the case when you open up the lipstick. Sure, it's a little gimmicky, but it's super handy and perfect for doing a last-minute makeup check or re-applying after food. All around a great little find, and well worth having in your beauty arsenal.

Flawless Valentine's Day Makeup Looks in 5, 20, or 45 Minutes

Valentine's Day is the perfect time to experiment with bolder, brighter makeup looks. But the problem is not always a matter of what kinds of palettes and color combinations to try: it's a matter of how much time there is to actually get it all on. According to celebrity makeup artist Emily Kate Warren (who has worked with stars such as Jennifer Jason Leigh and Abigail Breslin), a quick, flattering makeup look shouldn't take longer than five minutes. So whether you have hot date-night plans or you're heading out on the town with your friends this Valentine's Day, start those stopwatches. Here are Warren's suggestions for getting an easy-peasy five-minute look, along with tips on creating 20- and 45-minute palettes.

To get a speedy, five-minute look . . .
Warren recommends applying a black mascara, a red lip stain (or a matte lipstick tapped on with the fingertips), and a bright, pink-toned blush.

And if you have 20 minutes . . .
Warren suggests applying full foundation, all of the products listed above in the five-minute palette, and highlighter on the cheekbones. You can also try adding a haze of bronze around the lash lines for a warm and glowy finishing touch.

And if you have 45 minutes . . .
Apply all of the above, plus half-lash strips, along with a black liner on top to conceal the lash bands. And for that extra pop of color? "A full-on red lip could work, as well."

What We're Sweet On: Great Lip Stuff, Weird Names

Nobody would ever really be keen on the idea of putting blood or tears on our lips, so Rain Cosmetics is really lucky that its new lip stain, Blood ($12), and gloss, Tears ($12), are so superlatively great. Blood is a deep pink gel-based stain that's like a thicker, less-red Benetint. The lasting power is excellent when applied on the lips, but it works well on cheeks, too - even though it's not strictly for use as rouge. And thanks to the gel texture, the product spreads on wonderfully, allowing you plenty of time to blend away splotches.

Tears, the less eccentrically named of the two, is perfect if you're tired of supershiny, goopy gloss that makes you look like you just freshened up your makeup before eighth grade science class. Tears isn't sticky, the shine is so subtle that it almost looks more like balm, and it goes over stain or lipstick beautifully. So don't judge a gloss by its slightly creepy packaging; this stuff is much better than your average bodily fluid.

Every time a new image is released from The Hunger Games, fans react like it's a gift from their sponsor flying in by silver parachute. (If you don't know what that means, you still have 55 days to read the book before the premiere.

But we have to admit, even we squealed a bit over this new picture, which shows Katniss before the chariot ride in the opening ceremonies. Her dress, which earns her the nickname "Girl on Fire," is amazing; but what we're really impressed with is the smoldering makeup. In the book, Katniss describes her face in this scene as "relatively clear of makeup, just a bit of highlighting here and there." But from the looks of the photo, makeup artist Ve Neill either didn't read the book (we're guessing probably not so likely) or took some creative license (and we don't mind!). Here's how she got the look:
