Seeing Anne Hathaway at Elle Magazine's 15th Annual Women in Hollywood Tribute in her standout platforms makes me wonder why more woman don't take the plunge on the red carpet. Yes, the look is head-to-toe Spring '09 Marc Jacobs, but given his successful collection, I would wear the entire eclectic look, too. And, I would wear it ASAP, as Anne did. The youthful yet sophisticated Lurex-striped blue dress has the ease of a shirt dress but sharp shoulders - completely modern. Color is woven throughout and catapulted via the sash belt. Anne's hair is slightly messed, delivering a nonchalant attitude. And back to the shoes, bold, witty, Fab.

Many of you loved the shoes I wore to a recent wedding so I had to share the details. They are the very reason I grew to love the silk ruffle-neck dress I ordered a while ago. I had tried the dress on with countless other shoes but nothing was making sense. As soon as I tried it with these Jeffrey Campbell Marly Black Patent Leather Platforms ($110), something clicked; they breathed life to my dress, sort of like how Gwyneth Paltrow's powerful shoes complemented her awesome Iron Man premiere dresses. Plus, they were amazing to me all night. Nary a scratch or blister, nada. If I had more thumbs, I'd give them five thumbs up.

The Look For Less: Chloé Perspex Panel Platform Sandals

Chunky and funky - that's how I would describe these Chloé Perspex Panel Platform Sandals ($683, originally $910). You know how else I would describe them? Wallet-killers! Although they're on sale, paying that much for shoes that are so trendy would be a mistake in my world. Thankfully I don't have to make that mistake because there are identical shoes on the market.

Are these Steve Madden Calidaa White Platforms ($100) wildly similar to the Chloés or what? I don't see anything that's obviously different, except for the brand name and price tag!
