In its eighth consecutive year, Ralph Lauren creates a collection of black, white, and pink offerings to benefit programs for the screening, early diagnosis, treatment, and research of breast cancer.

The fashionable line stays true to the brand's iconic style and features tees, totes, and tops all with the signature Pink Pony logo. Items are available at Ralph Lauren stores and online. Also, during the month of October, 100 percent of all mobile commerce sales will be donated to the Pink Pony fund. Remember the days when if you wanted to do some shopping, you had to actually go to the store fully clothed, try things on, pay a real person for them, and then drive yourself back home? But then came the Internet and the effortless joy of shopping from the comfort of your own home, wearing just pajamas or nakedness, and now a faceless man drops your new clothes on your doorstep!

Ralph Lauren is hoping to stage a similar tech shopping revolution by enabling you to buy Polo Ralph Lauren from your cell phone.

To learn how it works, just

With software that you would download, you would then take pictures and scan in bar codes placed in magazine ads, store windows, and mailings -but you're then directed to a mobile version of their website, where you have the option to purchase items.

It's slightly exciting, but what I want is the ability to scan and purchase at once - after all, if you have a browser on your phone, you can already order things online.

Lauren says this is aimed at a customer "who's interested in our brand and interested in technology, and wherever the two meet" - hello, geeksugar readers!

Get Your Butt in Olympic Gear

While the majority of you were not big fans of the Olympic gear designed by Ralph Lauren, there were many of you who were. For those of you who'd like to own Olympic goodies and sport the same clothes the Olympians will be wearing during the opening ceremony, Ralph Lauren is now selling the collection online. While I am not sure I want to be wearing a shirt with "BEIJING" across my chest, I do think the little red, white, and blue belt is kind of cute.

Fab Flash: Ralph Lauren Launches American Living

Ralph Lauren and JC Penney have teamed up to launch American Living, an extensive new line of clothing. This marks the first time Ralph Lauren has created a brand for another retailer without using the Ralph Lauren name or some indication of the name like Polo or RLX.

American Living evokes the upscale American lifestyle that the Ralph Lauren brand is best known for - tailored navy blazers ($150), madras plaid skirts ($70), cable-knit sweaters ($60) - and is now available at 600 JC Penney stores and AmericanLiving.com.

Although the prices are 15 percent higher than other labels sold in JC Penney, Michael Boylson, chief marketing officer, counters that "with American Living you can have great style, great quality, at an affordable price." Are you convinced?

Whoa, Nellie: US Polo Association Goes Head to Head With Ralph Lauren

Would you be confused by these two logos? On Friday, a New York federal judge seemed to think so, ruling that the US Polo Association (USPA) cannot use a horse-and-rider image, along with the word "polo," when marketing its own fragrances.

The reason? The similarities to Ralph Lauren's Polo fragrance line would cause consumer confusion, not to mention violate the fashion brand's "substantive trademark rights," said Judge Robert Sweet.

As you might imagine, the USPA disagrees with the ruling, especially since a 2006 jury found that the double horseman image, when accompanied by the USPA logo, did not infringe upon the apparel market. So it looks like the USPA will be considering an appeal on this one, particularly because the logo/image dispute has been going on for years between the two organizations. When it comes to fragrances, would you be befuddled by the similar appearances of both brands' logos?

Naomi, Hugh, and Isla Join Polo Hottie Nacho at the Veuve Clicquot Classic

Naomi Watts and her fellow Australians Hugh Jackman and Isla Fisher, in D&G, were among the celebrities who turned out for the Veuve Clicquot Polo Classic on NYC's Governors Island yesterday. Nicky and Kathy Hilton were also on hand at the sporting grounds, where polo player and Ralph Lauren model Nacho Figueras showed off his skills on the field. Hugh sang a version of "Take Me Out to the Ballgame" to kick off the fourth annual match before taking his seat along the sidelines. Nacho's Black Watch team won the game, and once his work as an athlete was done, he changed into a Summer suit to enjoy the rest of the afternoon. The champagne was flowing at the Sunday soiree, and Donna Karan got the party started by teaming up with Wyclef Jean on the dance floor. Wyclef performed and lent his support to the event, which also served as a fundraiser for Donna's Hope Help & Rebuild Haiti nonprofit.

Polo player Nacho Figueras and his photographer wife, Delfina Blaquier, star in the fragrance's new Bruce Weber-directed spot. The first Romance campaign to be filmed in color, it was shot on location at Delfina's family estate in Buenos Aires. That's where Nacho courted her, where the lovebirds married seven years ago, and definitely where I'd want to hang out if I were a fabulously attractive equestrian type.
