In its eighth consecutive year, Ralph Lauren creates a collection of black, white, and pink offerings to benefit programs for the screening, early diagnosis, treatment, and research of breast cancer.

The fashionable line stays true to the brand's iconic style and features tees, totes, and tops all with the signature Pink Pony logo. Items are available at Ralph Lauren stores and online. Also, during the month of October, 100 percent of all mobile commerce sales will be donated to the Pink Pony fund. Preppy meets cool at Rugby.com. Offspring of Ralph Lauren, Rugby.com offers a laid-back approach to preppy style. Classic (and sometimes stuffy) Ivy League staples are given an overhaul with bright colors and updated cuts. You can find an array of retailored polos, knits, sweaters, oxfords, chinos, denim, and, of course, rugby shirts that won't bore you. My favorite is the madras patchwork blazer - quite Fabtastic.

Designer Spotlight: Birdie

Birdie designer Kate Sutton has been a golfer since the age of 12, but it was only as of the launch of her golf-inspired clothing line in 2006 that she started to really look feminine, fashionable and sexy on and off the driving range. Thanks to Kate's frustration with masculine and unflattering women's golf gear, we can all get a little preppy even if we can't swing a golf club for the life of us.

Kate set out to shake up tradition and she did just that with her colorful polos, femme sweaters, short pleated skirts, fitted blazers, Bermuda shorts, modern golf caps (so much hotter than the one your dad sports), and bags.

So even if you don't know the difference between a birdie and a bogey (it's okay, neither do I), check out the Birdie collection, and who knows, maybe it'll inspire you to get yourself to a green.

Fab Flash: Ralph Lauren Launches American Living

Ralph Lauren and JC Penney have teamed up to launch American Living, an extensive new line of clothing. This marks the first time Ralph Lauren has created a brand for another retailer without using the Ralph Lauren name or some indication of the name like Polo or RLX.

American Living evokes the upscale American lifestyle that the Ralph Lauren brand is best known for - tailored navy blazers ($150), madras plaid skirts ($70), cable-knit sweaters ($60) - and is now available at 600 JC Penney stores and AmericanLiving.com.

Although the prices are 15 percent higher than other labels sold in JC Penney, Michael Boylson, chief marketing officer, counters that "with American Living you can have great style, great quality, at an affordable price." Are you convinced?
