Preppy meets cool at Rugby.com. Offspring of Ralph Lauren, Rugby.com offers a laid-back approach to preppy style. Classic (and sometimes stuffy) Ivy League staples are given an overhaul with bright colors and updated cuts. You can find an array of retailored polos, knits, sweaters, oxfords, chinos, denim, and, of course, rugby shirts that won't bore you. My favorite is the madras patchwork blazer - quite Fabtastic.

Designer Spotlight: Birdie

Birdie designer Kate Sutton has been a golfer since the age of 12, but it was only as of the launch of her golf-inspired clothing line in 2006 that she started to really look feminine, fashionable and sexy on and off the driving range. Thanks to Kate's frustration with masculine and unflattering women's golf gear, we can all get a little preppy even if we can't swing a golf club for the life of us.

Kate set out to shake up tradition and she did just that with her colorful polos, femme sweaters, short pleated skirts, fitted blazers, Bermuda shorts, modern golf caps (so much hotter than the one your dad sports), and bags.

So even if you don't know the difference between a birdie and a bogey (it's okay, neither do I), check out the Birdie collection, and who knows, maybe it'll inspire you to get yourself to a green.

Whoa, Nellie: US Polo Association Goes Head to Head With Ralph Lauren

Would you be confused by these two logos? On Friday, a New York federal judge seemed to think so, ruling that the US Polo Association (USPA) cannot use a horse-and-rider image, along with the word "polo," when marketing its own fragrances.

The reason? The similarities to Ralph Lauren's Polo fragrance line would cause consumer confusion, not to mention violate the fashion brand's "substantive trademark rights," said Judge Robert Sweet.

As you might imagine, the USPA disagrees with the ruling, especially since a 2006 jury found that the double horseman image, when accompanied by the USPA logo, did not infringe upon the apparel market. So it looks like the USPA will be considering an appeal on this one, particularly because the logo/image dispute has been going on for years between the two organizations. When it comes to fragrances, would you be befuddled by the similar appearances of both brands' logos?

There was more than champagne flowing at last weekend's Veuve Clicquot Polo Classic on Governors Island in New York City. Celebs including Naomi Watts, Isla Fisher, and Nicky Hilton showed up in flowy Summer dresses and skirts for the annual polo fundraiser. The event, organized to raise money for Hope Help and Rebuild Haiti, had polo star Nacho Figueras, Marc Jacobs and Donna Karan as fashionable co-host to master-of-ceremonies Hugh Jackman. The ladies' choice of easy florals, sundresses, and hats are casual enough for a day in the sun, but classy enough to warrant a popping of champagne. Seriously, how cute is Naomi Watts in her white dress and oxfords? Mingle With the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge For $4,000

VIP access to the upcoming polo match in Santa Barbara to be attended by Prince William and Kate Middleton is available to the public for $4,000.

So what will $4,000 get you at the polo match? Access to the VIP tent as well as a three-course lunch and passed appetizers. Celebrity chef Giada De Laurentiis is planning the menu. And in fact, you can get inside to see Prince William play polo and Kate Middleton hand out prizes for just $400. Those in the regular section will get a gourmet boxed lunch.

British sporting events sound much different than a day at an all-American baseball game with beer and hot dogs, don't they?

Naomi Watts and her fellow Australians Hugh Jackman and Isla Fisher, in D&G, were among the celebrities who turned out for the Veuve Clicquot Polo Classic on NYC's Governors Island yesterday. Nicky and Kathy Hilton were also on hand at the sporting grounds, where polo player and Ralph Lauren model Nacho Figueras showed off his skills on the field. Hugh sang a version of "Take Me Out to the Ballgame" to kick off the fourth annual match before taking his seat along the sidelines. Nacho's Black Watch team won the game, and once his work as an athlete was done, he changed into a Summer suit to enjoy the rest of the afternoon. The champagne was flowing at the Sunday soiree, and Donna Karan got the party started by teaming up with Wyclef Jean on the dance floor. Wyclef performed and lent his support to the event, which also served as a fundraiser for Donna's Hope Help & Rebuild Haiti nonprofit.

Rachel took a short break from her own little one to coo over Selma Blair's baby boy Arthur, who was born at the end of July. Yesterday, Rachel also had a big announcement for fans of the Zoe Report - she's launching both accessories and beauty product based spin-offs of her daily newsletter this week. Ali Larter didn't bring along her son for the event while Jamie King, who has talked about wanting kids, had her husband as her date for the day. Lauren Conrad and best friend Lo Bosworth posed together for the cameras. Lo recently celebrated her 26th birthday and Lauren has her own exciting news this Fall. Lauren Conrad is reportedly dating Derek Hough, and the two were spotted out partying together just last Thursday.
