Preen's Fabric Anemones: Love It or Hate It?

All day I dream of Preen - you know what I mean? But today, after leaving the Preen Spring show, I couldn't shake the fabric anemones the designers used. Overly used. Overall, the collection was awesome - it was more airy than their body-con collections past. Less tight, more light. The colors were spot on: gray and taupe offset by crisp white, chartreuse, and pink sherbet. Fabrics were knotted and twisted in the utmost Preen way; lace patchwork was a new spin, a black iridescent fabric was sci-fi sassy. But in an attempt to be more textural, the designers doused skirts, dresses, and shoulders in these scrunchy fabric anemones. Sometimes it was cool, sometimes it was unflattering. Admire the fresh Preen shoes for a sec, then pray tell: do you love or hate the fabric anemones?

I know what you're going to say: houndstooth isn't a trend, it's a classic. So true. But what happens when a classic is Preen-ified? You get this wicked little dress. Or when McQueen takes it for a dark spin? Houndstooth like you've never seen it before. We already had a reader rework this classic. Preen, McQueen, Sugar stylists - now it's your turn. My approach would be edgy, an effort to rock houndstooth's world even further.

Rihanna paid a visit to Carol's Daughter Hand and Foot Spa in NYC, but looked more like a girl ready to party. A long black Preen blazer with bold shoulders covers up her pewter gray drape A.L.C. dress - what a stunning color, it matches her eyeliner. Her chunky chain necklace keeps her rough while peep-toe polka-dot pumps make her sweet. As for her pompadour hairstyle, you be the judge.

The Bag to Have: Preen Roxy Bag

British label Preen has launched a collection of handbags for Spring. My main crush is this Preen Roxy Bag ($650). Look at it; does it resemble any other handbag you've ever seen? That's why I'm in lust.

Here's the lowdown: one side of the bag is woven leather, the other is plain; there is a main purse and a small purse that zips onto front of the main one; and there's an optional wrist strap too. Versatile, utilitarian, and unique. As far as I'm concerned, that's all one can ask for in a man, er, bag.

Kids' Choice Awards: Amber Valletta

Supermodel Amber Valletta walked the orange carpet in a funky Preen frock that's suited for this lighthearted occasion. Silver dangle earrings are her only jewels, but she also threw a black Chanel clutch and black booties into the mix. What say you?

I wonder what Kanye West thought as he watched the leggy, determined Preen ponies flood the runway. Hotties! Preen always reminds me of the power designers Justin Thornton and Thea Bregazzi hold. This collection was not just hot swirly dresses and dramatic outerwear. The married duo played with oversized houndstooth, cut outs, fur, mohair, and pink metallic pants; you can tell these designers don't take themselves seriously, and man do they have skills. I think the reason I adore Preen so much is it's severe, but playful; an awesome combination.While Anja delivered the wow factor in her pastel chubby, it was surprising to see Trish Goff and Hannelore Knuts back in the model mix. I always welcome a model comeback, 'tis the season.

Leighton Meester in Bedazzled Preen: Love It or Hate It?

Leighton Meester has been known to push the fashion envelope every so often, so when we spotted her wearing this unique Preen dress at the Nylon Mexico launch party we had to dish. Her bedazzled LBD has an interesting mesh overlay and corset-like panel running across the chest. For adornments, the Gossip Girl chose a multi-colored bracelet by House of Lavande, a stingray barrel clutch by Cecelia, and a pair of strappy black sandals. Her ensemble is daring: do you love it or hate it?

Who Wore It Better? Asymmetrical Preen LBD

With such a downright fabulous dress, it's no wonder that two celebrities have already been all over it. Mandy Moore was a Fab favorite in her asymmetrical Preen LBD when she wore it in October. She looked classy with a hint of sultry. Her accessories included a silver clutch and black pumps. Cindy Crawford wore the same dress while out on the town in London this week. Someone had a good time! She wore pointier black pumps and opted for a sparkly black clutch. There's no denying that both ladies look smokin', but who wore it better?

This Week's Fab Favorite: Mandy Moore

Mandy is fairly incognito but whenever she's out and about we snatch her up and feature her. She seems so friendly, down to earth, and healthy. But wowsers - she turned heads in a Preen LBD this week at the opening of the "Vanity Fair Portraits: Photographs 1913-2008" exhibit at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art. What a perfect choice for an art soiree.

Her newly chopped 'do looked naturally amazing and let the dress shine. The dress, from Preen's Spring collection, is a reinvented LBD, partially bondage, partially utilitarian. It manages to be sexy and sporty - how unexpected. And the slight black sheen photographed beautifully. She wore simple black suede Louboutins, fine, but she added the perfect amount of metallic with a shimmering snakeskin clutch. Her big beautiful smile took the dress from Fab to fabulous.
