Even though most of us can't afford even the chain handle of this bag, it's still eye candy. One day my friends, may we all walk out of a Chanel store with a bag in hand...

When it comes to handbags, every gal should own at least one LBB (little black bag)! It's necessary for nights out when you don't feel like schlepping a humongous satchel. As long as it fits your lip gloss, ID and Blackberry, you're good to go.

This Erva Chain Quilted Box Pouchette, $340, is so attention-grabbing despite its mini size. The quilting reminds me of Chanel and the (detachable) chain strap is very Marc Jacobs. Wow, what a knockout combo. And the wooden clasp and the box shape are the cherries on top. What a wonderful little bag to have!

Ah, the quilted bag. It's so synonymous with Chanel and so expensive. That is unless you get a nondesigner version that you don't try to pass off as real. This Vintage Purple Leather Quilted Purse is the perfect example. It has Chanel qualities (chain straps, quilted leather) but it's not trying to act like it's really Chanel. Plus, the killer purple hue gives it a much-needed youthfulness!

The smaller shape is perfect for carrying a lighter load and who could resist the chain-link strap? Not I.

Last night, Kim Kardashian and boyfriend Reggie Bush had a date at the Staples Center, where the LA Lakers hit the court. Far from sporty, Kim looked modern chic in a gorgeous Vena Cava silk tank (on sale!) and an off-white leather jacket. Sticking with the neutral theme, she accessorized with a gray patent quilted bag and gray Christian Louboutin boots. Lastly, her dark-blue skinny jeans provide variety from all the soft hues. Works for me.
