Another year gone by, another year to come! Every year seems plentiful if you keep your watch on the ever-fickle world of fashion. What was in a year ago is not so in now, in some cases though, trends prevail. This can be interpreted on a personal level too. December is a time to reflect back on the year and think good thoughts; I never think it's healthy to start a new year as a negative Nancy. So let's raise our glasses and kick up our booties in an ode to 2007. Here are some things to get me through the stressful, but blissful, final month of the year.

Jetsetting is on my mind and I think it's time I invest in some posh luggage, like this Samsonite Vintage Duffel on Wheels ($600).
Resort collections means new and fresh clothes. This Tracy Reese Three Tone Knit Dress ($360) is adorable.
I am officially in love with the Yves Saint Laurent black quilted patent leather 'Tribute' large tote ($1,195). Not because it's in the ads with Gisele, because I prefer a hobo style and this is sleek as hell.

Superfly Luggage

I know people say you're not supposed to travel with attractive luggage, because it might get snatched along the way for being so pretty, but it really makes traveling more chic when you have a fun piece to lug around. And with all the latest offerings, from retro-inspired shapes to reasonably chic backpacks, there is no excuse to not fancy up your trip via some superfly luggage. Check out my picks below - the purple and red Samsonite Black Label collection is to die for. So toss your plain black rollies to the curb, there's a new gang of suitcases in town.

Alexander McQueen Samsonite Black Label: Love It or Hate It?

Now I know Christina Ricci has partnered with Samsonite, but something tells me even her gothic roots as Wednesday and in The Legend of Sleepy Hollow won't churn out a luggage collection quite like this. Alexander McQueen's collection for Samsonite Black Label is, er, interesting. At the launch party the designer admitted: "Unfortunately, I'm quite sick at the moment." Wait - was he physically sick or mentally sick? I think physically, but one would wonder about the mental bit too after viewing this luggage collection that resembles the boney spine of many a controversial model. I like the other pieces in the collection; the pristine white contours create a ghostly aesthetic that is McQueen no doubt. But that white spiny one just gives me the jeepers creepers - and I like scary movies! What do you all think?

Fab Flash: Christina Ricci's Got (Stylish) Baggage

Who knew Wednesday had so much baggage? But of course, it will be some of the most fashionable baggage around! It has been announced that Christina Ricci has signed on with the new Fashionaire line under the Samsonite Black Label brand.

The collection was inspired by Cameron Silver, owner of Los Angeles-based vintage retailer Decades, who acts as a consultant, and Samsonite creative director Quentin Mackay. I adore this Samsonite collection - Fashionaire is a modern day interpretation of a luggage line Samsonite released in 1968. This travel look just makes me want to jump on a cross country train with a very handsome travel buddy while wearing pristine gloves and a pill box hat!

Look out for Christina in the upcoming public relations campaign - hopefully it will look something like my fantasy.

Vintage (Looking) Luggage from Samsonite

I love the look of vintage luggage, but I could do without the musty smell. That's why I want the new Samsonite Black Label Vintage Collection for my next trip. (To see my other picks for great luggage, click here.) The Vintage line harkens back to the era of glamorous train travel, with satin lining and rivet and buckles details. The collection also features some surprising shapes, like romantic round "beauty cases" with makeup mirrors and wheeled 32-inch trunks. The bags come in cool retro color palettes, like pink and muted teal with red leather accents, as well as in neutral tones. Here are some of the offerings from the line.

4 Concerns About the Dumb and Dumber Sequel

Although Dumb and Dumber is one of my all-time favorite movies, the news that a Dumb and Dumber sequel is moving forward doesn't make me happy; it just makes me cringe. Writers have been hired for the script of the follow-up to the '90s comedy starring Jim Carrey and Jeff Daniels, though neither of them have officially committed to it yet. I won't worry too much until the actors sign on, but I still have some concerns.

It's been too long since the original. Carrey and Daniels were in their 30s when they played Harry and Lloyd in the 1994 film, but Carrey is 49 and Daniels is 55 now. While I'm positive that they'd still have great comedic chemistry, seeing two men in their 50s acting that stupid may not be so funny anymore - it may just be sad.
The Farrelly brothers have lost their touch. Dumb and Dumber was the first film by the Farrelly brothers, and arguably their best. They were at the top of their game in the '90s with other hits like There's Something About Mary, but their last few films like Hall Pass and The Heartbreak Kid come nowhere near replicating the quality of their earlier work.
They already tried to make another movie, and it didn't work. I know that Dumb and Dumberer: When Harry Met Lloyd is technically a prequel, but filmmakers tried to get lightning to strike twice with their installment about a young Harry and Lloyd, and it didn't happen. It wasn't as funny or good (partially due to the fact that Carrey and Daniels didn't appear at all), so I don't have a lot of faith that future movies will do justice to the franchise.
A bad sequel could detract from the enjoyment of the first movie. Can the sequel top bits like the "soup du jour" or "Samsonite" jokes? Can it even hope to come close? Bottom line: I don't want a subpar film sullying the good name of the hilarious original.
