On Our Radar: Scoop Beach Collection to Debut

Scoop NYC has created an exciting collection for ladies who love designer resort collections but would rather not spend a fortune.

Scoop Beach, set to launch in February, will not just be for vacation getaways. "This is not stuff to [simply] go to the beach in," said Stefani Greenfield, co-owner of the store. "We're going to have this in our stores all year long."

Fifteen Scoop NYC shops, as well as other department stores, will carry the collection, which includes a variety of dresses, woven tops, knitwear, pants, scarves, sandals, handbags, and more. If you don't live near a Scoop, an online store is coming soon. Items ranging from $55 to $445 aren't cheap, but they sure beat, say Prada's resort collection. I'll take that.

Fab Flash: Scoop Style on Home Shopping Network

The founder of Scoop NYC, Stefani Greenfield, is taking her boutique's "Ultimate Closet" concept of one-stop shopping to the viewers of the Home Shopping Network on Thursday, May 17. Scoop launched in downtown Manhattan in April of 1996 and has since been providing time-deprived girls with effortless trendy looks for all occasions.

The first installment of "Scoop Style," airing at 1 am and 9 pm ET on HSN, will feature a "Go Wild for Summer" theme. You will be able to see pieces ranging from dresses, cover-ups, tunics, pants and kaftans. A dress by Project Runway finalist Uli Hertzner will also be shown, as well as designs from the likes of Milly, J Crew, Kors by Michael Kors, Seven for all Mankind and more.

If you're unable to tune in, don't fret because the entire collection will be available on HSN's site.

Catching Up With Mary-Kate

Here's how Mary-Kate's week went last week: Tuesday, CelebStyle is giving away pieces from the Elizabeth and James jewelry line; Wednesday, chatted with Fab while drinking a non-vanilla iced latte; Wednesday night, partied with fashion folks at Vladimir Restoin-Roitfeld exhibition; Thursday, attended Proenza Schouler's Fall show while wearing a pair of shoes from Elizabeth and James's shoe collection; Saturday, attended the Independent Spirit awards in Proenza shoes. Whew. See how it's all intertwined? It had to be fate, then, that led me and Mary-Kate to a surprise convo at the Elizabeth and James design studio in NYC.I had an appointment to see the highly anticipated Elizabeth and James shoes and to preview the Summer clothing collection. No silly, not with Mary-Kate, she just happened to pop by when I was getting the scoop. Intros were made, Fab stood in shock.

Then we talked all things Olsen. Me, sipping on my GNC smoothie, her sipping her non-vanilla iced latte (she asked the deliverer to make sure it wasn't vanilla - are you getting this, Yum?). We then talked shoes. I can't reveal more pictures yet, but the finely crafted shoes come in either very flat or very heeled form - no in between. My favorites were the pony hair loafers and black suede ruched d'orsay open toe sandals. The Steve Madden team is very involved with manufacturing, sourcing, and distributing the shoes but with the girls’ aesthetic and the Elizabeth and James shoe designer, they are very different from the Steve Madden shoe lines. The shoes are very well made, being produced in China, Mexico, Brazil and Italy, and a price point below heavyweight heels like Louboutin or Manolo. MK spoke about how Ashley was inspired by a trip to Greece and hence created the gladiator sandals.

We then chatted about the quick success of The Row's menswear launch; MK was surprised it took off so fast. I swear, everything they touch turns to gold. We also talked about a friend of mine who worked as their illustrator on their junior line in LA - she said to say hi Jevon! Lastly, she was wearing the Balenciaga sandals in the photo on the left, black holey legging/tights, and an oversize black sweater. She was very polite and mellow. Hope you enjoyed catching up with Mary-Kate - I did!

Celebrity Style: Ashley Olsen

It looks like the weather is cooling in NYC (already?), but Ashley Olsen kept herself warm in an incognito long black coat. Her choice of black sandals, however, revealed that it's still Summer. The actress stuck to her usual subdued palette by finishing the look with a gray scoop tee, skinny jeans, and of course, a macho watch. To add to her elusiveness, Ash wore black angular sunnies. Transitional style done right.

Gossip Girl Fashion Quiz: Episode 4 (Bad News Blair)

Is it me or was last night's episode of Gossip Girl the best so far?! There was a big emphasis on fashion, with Blair's mother's photo shoot, and Blair and Serena were giddy girlfriends again. Oh to be young and rich! While I wasn't really feeling the poker game scandal with the boys, I did get a kick out of Chuck's basketball getup. The final scene where the girls steal the mom's clothes to get back at her un-motherly conduct then they go and do their own photo shoot around NYC was a fun little montage. Also, if you were coveting any of the mother's designs don't forget they are actually the designs of Lorick - we've got the inside scoop for you! As Gossip Girl herself says: "xoxo."

FABTV: The Beginnings of Cashmere Mafia

Last week we gave you the inside scoop on the wardrobe of one of the most highly anticipated new shoes, I mean shows, well this show will probably contain some amazing shoes, anyway, Cashmere Mafia. For us fashion devotees, this new show, about four high-powered women in NYC, gets my blood churning simply because of the supposed amazing wardrobe to be created by Patricia Field. The show that is being dubbed the next Sex and the City shows some promise. From this preview, you can tell the show has substance, following the lives of four successful business women, style, take a look at Lucy's tailored suiting, and sass, get a load of the redhead (played by Miranda Otto)! Though the four women sitting around the resto table taking turns dishing is a bit too SATC close for comfort, I won't hold that against them. Kate Moss Live & Direct!

Is everybody psyched about Kate's design debut for Topshop?! I know I am. It may seem the clothing line is unattainable, with Topshop stores being overseas and only being sold at Barneys. But there is a special Kate/Topshop website and there's always good 'ol faithful eBay. As well, Topshop will be opening stores in the US soon enough - starting with NYC of course.

More big news: I will be in Europe in early June when her line will be in Topshop stores! Hopefully I'll score some coveted goods I can share with you all in the Look Book. Stay tuned.
