That's precisely what happened when I saw Cali girl Cameron Diaz bundled up on the streets of NYC. Don't get me wrong, she pulls both seasonal looks off; it's just I'm so used to seeing her in airy dresses and sandals. It begs the question, which Cameron do you prefer: Summer babe or Winter woman?

Fab Finding Follow Up: A Winter to Spring Outfit

One of the trickiest wardrobe times is the seasonal transition. How annoying is it when the sun is pouring in through your windows but you step outside and it is surprisingly crispy cold? You then feel unprepared for the rest of the day - or even worse, have to turn around, run home, and add another layer.

The solution to this dilemma is layering. This was a Fall trend that carried over into Spring, so luckily we've been seeing numerous examples on the runways and magazines. I showed you a look from the Marc Jacobs Spring collection for inspiration. I asked you to go Fab Finding for some Spring layering essentials. Come Fab Finding With Me: A Winter to Spring Outfit

The solution to this dilemma is layering. This was a Fall trend that carried over into Spring, so luckily we've been seeing numerous examples on the runways and magazines. Here is a look from the Marc Jacobs Spring collection. If you pull apart the outfit and add some jeans, fingerless gloves, and a more wearable hat, one can appear freshly in style and not sacrifice warmth.

We have seen a couple Looks of the Day that exhibit layering pretty well, but let's go Fab Finding for some Spring layering essentials. Here's a great post FashionWithoutGuilt posted in our Cheap Chic and Frugalosity groups.

Rise and Shine! Metallics and mini dresses are back with a vengeance. The trend this season is sexy shine. As pictured, Eliza Dushku is showing us a great example of this trend done right. Forever 21 and American Apparel have some great alternatives we can all afford.

When choosing metallics there are a few things to consider:

The type of material of the garment: Fabrics with shine, if not chosen wisely, can come across as low quality. To prevent this, try the item on first. Is there a stretch to the fabric or do you just look like a roll of aluminum foil?
No shine overload: I am all for glitz but sometimes there can be too much. If you are going to incorporate shine into your ensemble, please use discretion. Do not ever wear this fabric as a top and bottom. The fashion police will be called immediately. Choose one garment and stick to it.
Have fun: Metallics are all about fun and making a statement. So own it and be fierce.

It's time to scout your holiday dress of the season, and how can you resist the sweet smell of big blooms? Leighton sparkled in this blue, brush-painted rose silk bow front dress with patent belt by Prabal Gurung. If feminine and frilly is your thing, this is your lucky season. Oversize rosettes and flower motifs are not only in style, but quite classic, endlessly pretty. I say go dramatic or go home; I'm sure Leighton would second my emotion.

The season premiere of Gossip Girl lived up to our expectations, debuting another round of drama and sin in the Hamptons. While there were lots of juicy details, I'll focus on the fashions of Blair Waldorf.

While most of the boys were off frolicking with new ladies, Blair was busy making Chuck jealous. What better way than by looking pretty and polished with a new boy, or shall I say, Lord, on her arm.
