If you're a nature lover, check out the whimsical designs of Jennifer Sarkilahti, dubbed Odette New York. Taking inspiration from the flora and fauna around her, Jennifer creates a unique line of necklaces and earrings. In addition to the svelte snake are an abundance of bunnies, monkeys, birds, and other cute creatures made from sterling silver and solid gold.

You may not realize this, but making quality jewels is a lot of work. Jennifer's designs are all made from an intricate process requiring her to hand sketch everything, create a wax mold from the sketch, cast the metals, and polish the final pieces. Sounds like a lot of work, but well worth it!

Jewelry Designer Spotlight: Me & Ro

There's something so girly and romantic about this silver charm necklace that Scarlett Johansson wore for her photo shoot in the October issue of InStyle. The pretty heart-shaped pendants and sterling-silver chains are from New York-based jeweler Me & Ro, which makes fine but youthful jewelry for girls who don't like a lot of bling.

The piece Scarlett is wearing is the Silver Flowers & ‘Beloved’ Double Hearts Necklace, which features two sterling-silver heart pendants, one of which is engraved with the Chinese symbols for "beloved." You can buy it for $190 here. Here's a look at some of Me&Ro's other great designs.

Trend Alert: Charm Jewelry - Part 1: Necklaces

Welcome to our three part series on hot trend, charm jewelry. This trend has been popping in and out of my life for as long as I can remember. I think it started with those awesome plastic charm necklaces in grade school that we used to trade on the playground. Then in high school my mom got me a silver charm bracelet so I could collect charms for each of my accomplishments. Most recently I was given a gorgeous gold charm bracelet from my in-laws so I can collect charms on all of my travels. Well it seems charm bracelets, necklaces and earrings are everywhere these days, so I am right in style.

Trend Alert: Fabric Infused Jewelry

I was prompted to show you this trend after my Celebrity Style: Nicole Richie this week. As you can see she is wearing clusters of bracelets, or necklaces worn as bracelets, which seem to swallow her frail wrists. I found some other cool fabric infused jewelry I thought you'd enjoy. Unlike Nicole's style, I would wear these one at a time, to show off their uniqueness. Some are necklaces which double as wraparound bracelets and some are simple bracelets with a cool contrast of soft fabrics with hard metals. These are for those gals who like charm jewelry with an edge. Enjoy!

Welcome to Day 2 of our series on charm jewelry. Yesterday we told you about charm necklaces and today is all about charm bracelets. I love the idea of collecting charms for various occasions in one's life, which is why I am so happy to see this trend popping up again. A charm bracelet is a great gift for someone else or for yourself. I love mine because whenever I go on a trip, I always buy a charm to remind me of the adventure. I think of the trip every time I wear the bracelet and it's a much better souvenir than a t-shirt!

Fab Flash: Stars Design Charms to Aid Cancer Research

Kate Moss, Scarlett Johansson and Christian Louboutin have all contributed a charm for this year's limited edition necklace in aid of Cancer Research UK. Each charm reflects the personal experience and character of its creator. Kate's (far right) is a pretty turquoise and silver swallow; Scarlett's (second from left) a white, yellow and orange lily; Christian's (center) is what else but a small golden shoe with his signature red sole.

The necklace, about $51, can be purchased starting September at Wallis. Twenty dollars from each necklace will go towards Cancer Research UK's work.
