Alicia Keys - From Songstress to Jewelry Maven

Alicia Keys can belt out a mean tune, and now she's about to show her talent in jewelry design. The singer, along with Gisèle Theriault, has launched a sterling silver and gemstone line called The Barber's Daughters. What makes it special is each piece is inscribed with author Masaru Emoto's poetry and prayers. The goal is "to give people beautiful, unique pieces with messages that ignite them to find the best within," Alicia said. Retail prices start at $85 and go up to $2,500 - peruse the extensive collection.

Last night, at the CMAs festivities, the songstress stole the spotlight with her magical voice, and more importantly, her stunning frocks. You know those songs you wish your guy would dedicate to you? This is one of mine. Whenever I hear this it makes me feel good, real good. It's uplifting, sweet, and sexy - it doesn't get much better. And I'm obviously partial to a song with "Sugar" in the title. I thought it would be fun to go live with this one, it's a pretty cool performance. I love how lead singer Ian McCulloch has a cigarette dangling from his sugar lips . . .

When I first learned about the existence of colorful safety pins, I jumped for joy so high that had I been holding a safety pin in my hand, I would have poked my eye out. No, but seriously, besides it being pretty, it's also really useful. What I didn't jump for joy over is the price ($14 for 36 pins). Why pay more when you can pay less?

I was perusing the aisles of Walgreens when I discovered these Singer Metallic-Coated Safety Pins ($3 for $35). Imagine my excitement. I know it's limited to red, green, blue, and purple, and it doesn't have the fancy schmancy pin-up girl container, but considering the low price, that's A-OK.
