It's always cool when a gal can borrow a piece from her significant other's closet and make it her own. Fab reader MissBehave transformed her sweetheart's sweater into a seriously stylish Winter ensemble. She layered the sweater with an oversize top, tights, cozy gray socks, and a cute rust-colored chunky knit scarf ($32) and hat from Topshop.

I've had a number of FabSugar readers write in coveting the cute knit beret that Lindsay Lohan was recently spotted wearing. After searching high and low for this hat, I'm beginning to think LL knitted this thing herself! True to form, Rachel Roy delivered a delightfully wearable collection of bold-hued knits and dresses, homing in on the perfect balance of easy separates and keen architectural detail for Fall '12. Roy excels in crafting pieces women want to wear - it's that mix of the understated, like slouchy knits in brilliant colors, and the sharpness of a well-executed cut - and the backs of Roy's evening gowns are done with perfect precision. This season, she's particularly adept at translating megawatt hues onto wearable pieces - even furs and sweaters get the pop-of-color treatment to pair against the line's sleek trousers or simple shifts. Mara Hoffman has made her name in the industry with her own brand of bohemian-cool separates perfect for the easy, low-key girl on the go. The designer's Fall '12 collection showcased her signature free-spirited, breezy silhouettes in floaty silks and sleek geometric prints with a decidedly Southwest feel. The jury's still out on the designer's headscarves (ones that flowed dramatically from the fronts and backs of her dresses), but ultimately nearly every piece feels entirely wearable - a cool mix of slouchy trousers and the most gorgeous maxi dresses covered in standout print. Every look is executed with both easy proportions and the perfect add-ons - wide-brimmed toppers and gold-tinged statement jewels were the natural finishers for Mara's West-meets-tribal fare.

Vanessa Bruno's Fall '11 collection is another masterful lesson in the art of layering, giving us an interesting mix of '70s chic and '90s grunge. Thick wool coats look cozy and cloud-like; long, languid skirts take on the shape of the wearer; and airy blouses play romantically against plush mohair crew-neck sweaters. Moody floral silk dresses fare well with turtlenecks and knee-high boots, while long, drapey coats look downright dreamy when paired with silky separates and sharp tailored trousers. The painstaking attention to detail that Bruno takes when styling each look is evident, and the Fall collection is pretty and polished, yet still effortlessly undone.
