What's your signature doodle? Mine is an asterisk, or I do stars, and sometimes I do this cool heart chain squiggly thing. Obviously, I'd have to show you for you to get me. Or, I could wear it on my sleeve. Art and fashion collide in the coolest ways, and these ladies are flaunting decadent doodles. Joy in punchy Matthew Wiiliamson, Emma in abstract Giambattista Valli, Anne in regal Marchesa. It really pops.

Before Angelina Jolie became the face of St. John, there was Kelly Gray, the model/daughter of the American luxury brand’s founders.

I’m thrilled that Kelly handed down the modeling throne to Angelina, not because Angie has an impeccable jawline and flawless skin, but because it's given Kelly the time to work on her soon-to-be launched women’s wear collection and men’s jewelry line for Royal Underground, the contemporary men’s wear company she started with Motley Crue bassist Nikki Sixx. I know, it sounds like an unlikely pair considering St. John is more for ladies who lunch than rugged rock ‘n rollers. It's been reported, that that’s precisely what Gray intended: “It’s fairly different from my St. John life."

Thanks to Kelly and Nikki, come late summer, when their new line lands in stores, our wardrobes will be much more rockin’ and rollin' with pieces ranging from leather jackets, cashmere sweaters, T-shirts, jeans, dresses and skirts. Let the hard-edge splurging begin!

A new kind of design competition in New York has just caught our eye. A new MetroLoft luxury building, 116 John St., got creative and hosted its very own interior design competition. Six up-and-coming designers traveled to the building and put their personal touches on model homes. Each of the designs is absolutely lovely, and interior design extraordinaire Deborah Berke is going to have a tough time picking a favorite! But you can make your mark too. Tribeca Takeaway: Hysteria

Hysteria, a movie from director Tanya Wexler, is currently screening at the Tribeca Film Festival before its theatrical release on May 18. The story, which is based on real-life events, centers on the 1880s-era doctor who invented the vibrator to treat hysterical female patients, and I had a chance to check out the film and bring you the details.

Who's behind it? The film was helmed by Wexler, who previously directed indie films Ball in the House and Finding North. Fun fact: Wexler, a graduate of Columbia's film school, is the half sister of Daryl Hannah. Hugh Dancy is the film's leading man, with Maggie Gyllenhaal, Rupert Everett, and Felicity Jones rounding out the cast.
What's it about? Dancy's Dr. Mortimer Granville is a cutting-edge doctor for his time, since he shocks colleagues by believing that germs exist. After being fired from one hospital after another for his radical views, he lands a last-ditch position as the assistant to society doctor Robert Dalrymple (Jonathan Pryce). Dalrymple is a specialist in "hysteria," which was a commonly diagnosed condition in women. His treatment involves a literal hands-on method, and Mortimer has to explore other options to ease the physical demands on the doctor. Mortimer also romances Dalrymple's daughter Emily (Felicity Jones) but is also captivated and confused by Robert's other daughter, volatile social activist Charlotte (Gyllenhaal).

Kate Moss Lists Her Wild London Lair

Last month, we got word that Kate Moss had purchased a new home in Highgate Hill London, which was built by English poet William Blake and later home to many important literary figures in the Romantic movement. While I had lots of fun poring over photos of her generous new accommodations, it's her personal decorating style that I'm really after. I hoped, and assumed, her other London property would soon go on the market, giving me a chance to see if Kate's interior design style is as fashionable as her wardrobe.

As it turns out, Kate has just listed her 5-bedroom, 4-and-2-half bath St. Johns Wood home for $11.3 million. The early Victorian house has been beautifully restored and has gorgeous natural light throughout. Some standout features include floor-to-ceiling folding doors, an expansive south-west-facing walled garden, a covered entrance vestibule, a gym, a raised roof terrace, music and alarm systems, and a three-car garage. But on to the decorating . . .

The living room has a mix of exotic and polished décor with parquet flooring, a leopard hide throw, a pair of rounded barrel chairs, an antiqued mirror wall, a Persian rug, brown faux-finished walls, a horn-based coffee table, and a carved Eastern armchair. In the dining room, Kate went for a mod, '70s look with a heart-shaped neon sconce, smoky transparent Saarinen Tulip-inspired dining chairs, a slick white table, a chrome floor lamp, and a white streetlight with oversize bulbs. The kitchen has a minimalist modern style and opens up to a rear terrace, which is a lovely place to entertain in the Summer.

News just broke that Raf Simons will be replacing John Galliano at Dior. "The first time I heard about the Dior position," said Simons, "I thought, 'This feels right.'" It has been a little over a year since Dior fired John Galliano for making anti-Semitic remarks, and with it came rumors of his replacement, which included Marc Jacobs and Alber Elbaz. After seven years as Jil Sander's artistic director, Simons was replaced by the brand's founder earlier this year. Simons garnered high accolades for bringing a fresh, feminine quality to Jil Sander's minimal aesthetic, but his new post at Dior is sure to be a challenge. "Of course I haven't been in the archives yet, but for me the strongest impact is the first 10 years of Dior and how to link that to the 21st century,"

6 Things That Could Make the Pill Fail

A hangover isn't the only side effect of heavy drinking. As the Huffington Post reports, binge drinking can increase the risk of pregnancy for women on the pill. It's the perfect, yet not-so-sexy, storm of heavy drinking and vomiting, followed by unprotected sex. See, if you vomit shortly after taking your pill, it's no longer in your system. Why else does the pill fail? Here are six things to look out for. And always consult your doctor if you have any questions!

Inconsistency. Taking your pill at the exact same time every day greatly reduces the risk of failure. And while obesity used to be considered a factor that could impact the effectiveness of the pill, a recent study said consistency, not weight has the greatest impact. If you forget to take more than one pill in a month, be sure to use backup birth control and call your doctor or pharmacist for specific advice.
St. John's Wort. The natural supplement can increase the breakdown of your pill's estrogen, making it less effective.
The antibiotic rifampin. According to the Mayo Clinic, the risks of antibiotics interfering with the pill are greatly overstated. Yet, the antibiotic rifampin (Rimactane) does have an impact, so check with your doctor if you are prescribed antibiotics.
Other medications. Some yeast-infection medicines, HIV treatments, or anti-seizure medication could counteract the pill. If you ever fill a new prescription, always ask if you need to use a backup form of birth control.
Temperature. Be sure to store your pack in a cool place. If it's left in the sun or in extreme heat (or cold) it could become less effective.
Vomiting or diarrhea. If you're ill within 30 minutes of taking your pill - thanks to alcohol or something else - treat it as if you missed it.

If you want to (or can't help but) forget the pill, there's always non-hormonal birth control.

Matt and Luciana Damon Head to LA Ahead of a Reported Pittsburgh Stint

Matt Damon and his wife Luciana arrived in LA yesterday afternoon. Their visit to California is the latest stop on a busy 2012 itinerary. Matt and Luciana kicked off the year with a bikini and shirtless-clad vacation in St. Barts, then hightailed it to London for their mutual friend Lisa Snowdon's 40th birthday party. They then returned home to NYC, closing out Fashion Week last month at the star-studded Guns N' Roses show at the Hiro Ballroom. Matt and Luciana skipped out on the Oscars, but he joined forces with pal Jimmy Kimmel for a post-Academy Awards spoof that aired on Kimmel's late night show. Next up for Matt will be working on a film with John Krasinski. Matt and John's Promised Land will shoot in Pittsburgh, according to reports, and filming should start soon with director Gus Van Sant at the helm.
