Johnny Depp May No Longer Answer to Captain Jack Sparrow

Johnny Depp donned multiple layers while on the set of a music video for the band Babybird in Herts, UK, on Tuesday. He was working alongside the lead singer Stephen Jones and Johnny's Public Enemies costar Stephen Graham. Next up for Johnny was supposed to be a fourth installment of Pirates of the Caribbean, but after Disney studio chief Dick Cook resigned last week, Johnny said he was losing enthusiasm in doing the movie. Orlando Bloom has already reportedly passed on the project, so it sounds like they might be looking for some new manjoyable actors to try on the iconic pirate gear.

Stephen Jones has taken a role in the highly anticipated film, Coco Before Chanel featuring Audrey Tautou. The sought-after milliner, who has designed head pieces for some of the top fashion houses including Mugler, Gaultier, and Christian Dior, will be creating hats for our little French Fabcon in the upcoming biopic.

"She will make a wonderful Chanel, she is equally as petite. We have had to adjust everything. We put a little flower on her head and it looked like a cushion," said Jones. We can't wait to see his millinery madness!

Set in a Rachel Feinstein-designed, storybook-inspired, castle-in-ruins Winter wonderland, Marc Jacobs presented his Fall 2012 collection with more than just a little fashion fanfare. The first word that comes to mind? Hats! And lots of them, all by mastermind milliner Stephen Jones, each one more wonderfully whimsical than the one before. These wild toppers, in addition to the parade of rich, slightly oversized outerwear, giant safety-pin closures, bejeweled square-toed shoes, luxe ostrich-skin handbags, and more, served as a serious testament to Marc's vivid imagination. Set in a Rachel Feinstein-designed storybook-inspired castle-in-ruins Winter wonderland, he presented his Fall '12 lineup with more than just a little fashion fanfare. The first word that comes to mind? Hats! And lots of them, all by mastermind milliner Stephen Jones; each one more wonderfully whimsical than the one before. These wild toppers, in addition to the parade of rich, slightly oversized outerwear, giant safety pin closures, bejeweled square-toed shoes, luxe ostrich-skin handbags, and more, served as a serious testament to Marc's vivid imagination. All flights of fancy aside, though, there were ultra-wearable pieces peeking out from under the more fantastical garb. To this point, we spied cozy layered tweeds in muted tones, shimmery metallic pencil skirts in looser silhouettes, and slick cropped pants sent out in leather, brocade, and jacquard versions. Marc Jacobs's Les Misérables-meets-Dickensian disco-meets Alice in Wonderland Mad Hatter tea party collection certainly highlighted the fact that fashion, at its core, is whatever you make of it . . . and yes, wildly fun.

Trends: rich textiles like brocade and jacquard, floppy hats, oversized outerwear, fur-accented accessories.
Colors: Muted jewel tones - green, purple, ruby red, pink, slate gray, and black.
Key Piece: Slightly oversized coats in luxe fabrics and cropped pants in every texture, from leather to brocade.
Accessories: Fabulously fantastical hats in every color, square-toed shoes with crystallized buckles, long opera-length gloves with finger cutouts, and large boxy totes, some covered in fur, some made in decadent ostrich skin textures.

Donna Karan Fall 2012

Somewhere, Marlene Dietrich is smiling. Donna Karan's Fall 2012 collection gave menswear a seductive turn, somehow making the double-breasted suit look just as sexy as the fitted dresses. Whereas past collections felt as loose and languid as a yoga pose, this latest collection was all about sharp tailoring and even sharper edges. Blazers had pointed shoulders, tops had extra wide, stiff cuffs, and skirts and dresses were folded and gathered like the face of a Frank Gehry building. There was lots of structure, and it seemed that Karan is making a strong argument for the '90s power suit. Models were adorned with miniature fedoras - thank you, Stephen Jones - giving the show a slightly playful and sexy undertone, as if they were Vegas dancers playing businesswomen. That said, Donna Karan also paid tribute to Whitney Houston, and the show closed with the late singer's rendition of "I'm Every Woman." No one knows that better than Karan. Side note: the show opened with a preview of her Casual Luxe line, which could be summed up as tartan-loving biker chick. Those looks follow the collection photos.

Colors: Red, black, gray, olive.
Key Piece: The fitted menswear blazers, a sexy red cocktail dress.

The mood of the Grammy Awards was a bit somber this year in the wake of Whitney Houston's shocking death, but the show went on, and the statues were all handed out to the winners. Adele owned the night, picking up multiple awards, including those for record of the year, album of the year, and song of the year.

For the second year in a row, the Recording Academy has given a hip-hop artist the most Grammy nominations. Last year, it was rapper Eminem with eight, and this year, Kanye West leads the nominees with seven chances at the golden gramophone, including a song of the year nod for "All of the Lights." West is also nominated twice in the rap album of the year category for his collaboration with Jay-Z on Watch the Throne and his own album, My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy. Brit crooner Adele wasn't far behind Kanye, picking up six nominations for her album 21, as well as a shot at song of the year with "Rolling in the Deep."

Bruno Mars also did well, racking up six nominations (that's down one from last year for those keeping track), while newcomers like Nicki Minaj and dubstep artist Skrillex are up for the best new artist category. Many of last night's biggest stars retired to the Governors Ball to celebrate following the Emmys. Good pals Tina Fey and Amy Poehler stuck together after organizing the best actress in a comedy nominees on stage, where Mike and Molly's Melissa McCarthy picked up her first award. There was more affection on display as Rashida Jones and Kristen Wiig posed for photos together, and hot Vampire Diaries couple Ian Somerhalder and Nina Dobrev stuck together. Leading men Jon Hamm and Timothy Olyphant, from Mad Men and Justified respectively, added their good looks to the festivities. The annual White House Correspondents' Dinner brought celebrities and the media stars who love them to the White House in Washington DC on Saturday night. Scarlett Johansson and Sean Penn were inseparable after the event, but she first walked the red carpet with her brother Hunter. Other couples were more comfortable posing before the cameras, with Jon Hamm cozying up to Jennifer Westfeldt, Anna Paquin and Stephen Moyer sticking together, and Paul Rudd making the rounds with wife Julie when not chilling with Parks and Recreation funny girls Amy Poehler and Rashida Jones. Salma Hayek also had her husband Francois-Henri Pinault on hand, and Chace Crawford tagged along with sister Candice and her fiancé Tony Romo. The Vampire Diaries duo Nina Dobrev and Ian Somerhalder made the rounds, as Mila Kunis made one half of an interesting pair with CNN's Wolf Blitzer. Seth Meyers was the evening's emcee, but it was President Obama who stole the show. The president hit back at critics like Donald Trump and even Matt Damon, who recently expressed disappointment with the administration. Obama said of Damon, "I've even let down my key core constituency: movie stars. Just the other day, Matt Damon - I love Matt Damon, love the guy - Matt Damon said he was disappointed in my performance. Well, Matt, I just saw The Adjustment Bureau, so. . . .right back atcha, buddy."
