There's nothing I like more than seeing Sophia Bush step outside the fashion box. Over the weekend, the actress attended The Private Lives of Pippa Lee premiere in NYC looking glam galactic in a long sleeve minidress by Helmut Lang. The abstract powder print is so art nouveau, and I like how she tempered it with sleek suede booties. With a dress like that, you don't need a lot of accessories.

Steve Madden Makes Shoes and Bags For Olsenboye

Steve Madden collaborated on the Elizabeth and James footwear collection, so it's no surprise the brand has teamed up with Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen's new venture, Olsenboye. The shoe company is set to produce a collection of footwear and accessories that include suede flats, canvas sneakers, slouchy plaid handbags, and small bucket bags. Starting this Friday, Nov. 6, you can get your Olsenboye on at jcp.com and in 50 JCPennney stores. Look out for a full launch for Spring.

You can imagine my excitement when I found out the brand has teamed up with L’Koral Industries to create a fresh clothing collection. “They really understand my design aesthetic and the Steve Madden brand identity,” said Steve Madden. Like his footwear, the clothing line exudes fun and flirtation via an array of floral prints, zippered skirts, boyfriend blazers, and adorable ruffles. 10 Fashion Observations, Straight From Paris

My recent trip to Paris left me inundated with chic fashion observations. Whether I was window shopping on Rue Saint-Honoré or strolling down Rue St. Germain, I would always spot a cool trend, another form of inspiration for my closet. Left and right, effortlessly gorgeous women on bikes and on foot would stop me dead in my tracks. It's a mystery how they don't brush their hair and barely wear makeup, but look so damn good. Bella, any ideas? Fashion-wise, we all know that Parisians love, love, love black. Even visitors, like L'Uomo Vogue editor Giovanna Battaglia, get sucked into the black hole when they go. Trend Alert: Gray Suede Shoes

No regrets. When I purchased a pair of Derek Lam gray suede sandals on sale at Shopbop last Summer, not only did I pat myself on the back for finding such a great deal, but I wore them with vigor. They magically matched every outfit, and were more interesting than black shoes. They felt very . . . modern.

And that's exactly how Dasha Zhukova looks. Her printed ivory and black dress is thoroughly baby-bump friendly, a little black jacket is smart, and what appears to be a Chanel bag is perfection. But it's her crisscross gray suede platform pumps that remind us she's a fashion editor. They give her a slight edge and added texture.

If you're seeking one worthy shoe investment for Fall, consider a pair of gray suede shoes.
