Todd Oldham Walks Us Through His Favorite Pieces in the Kid Made Modern Collection

Run, don't walk to your nearest Target to pick up Todd Oldham's just-released line of Kid Made Modern DIY art supplies. The collection - which we first told you about back in January - includes 48 affordable kits and pieces (all priced under $20) based on his book of the same name. The multifaceted crayons (one has 64 colors in a single crayon), board book-making kits, and beautiful learn-to-sew kits with Charley Harper images are all designed to bring tots to the table and inspire a love of various forms of arts and crafts. I had the honor of walking through the collection with Oldham himself which was nothing short of impressive. Gwen Stefani's making good on her plans to continue creating fun and kid-friendly designs for kids (at affordable prices). The designing mama is launching her Summer Harajuku Mini collection for Target today (all priced between $12 - $20), and the bright, island-inspired designs are pure Gwen. Girls pieces feature bright colors, ruffles, and Summer-clad characters, while the boys' designs are packed with tribal- and safari-themed prints. For the first time, Gwen is venturing into swimwear for tots, adding her trademark designs to one-piece swimsuits for girls and eclectic board shorts for boys, as well as beach bags, sunglasses, and beach towels for the perfect day by the water.

After seeing the great success of the first string of shops at Target, it looks like all the fun will continue with a little bit of a different twist. For Fall 2012, the shops at Target will take on more regional vibes with collections curated from hip cities like NYC, Boston, and San Francisco. While two of the shops are more fashion-focused, two that will focus more on home decor. Check out the dynamic duo of awesome stores that made the cut plus a few pieces from each that we hope will be channeled into their designs!

In addition to its amazing designer collaboration collections, Target's main fashion lines - Mossimo, Converse One Star, and Xhilaration, to name a few - pack some fashion punch as well. Take a sneak peek at Target's newly unveiled Fall '12 collection, showcasing a cute array of soft crop wool trousers, ladylike printed pencil skirts, and sweet printed blouses. Additionally, we spotted a covetable range of outerwear, from smart, classic trench coats adorned with contrast piping to a Navajo-inspired poncho jacket. Accessories included soft suede fringed bags, color-pop ballet flats, and our personal favorite, leopard-print booties. Hot Shops: Target Is Teaming Up With NYC Boutique Kirna Zabête For Its Next Collaboration

Hot on the heels of yesterday's The Shops at Target launch with Miami fashion spot The Webster, Target has announced it will team up next with one of our NYC favorites: Kirna Zabête. If you're not totally familiar with this downtown shopping destination, here's why you should be as giddy as we are for the Sept. 9 collaboration launch. Started by fashion-obsessed best friends Beth Buccini and Sarah Easley, Kirna Zabête has built its name on its meticulous curation of superchic brands and up-and-coming designers like Balenciaga, Wes Gordon, Chloé, Vionnet, Celine, and Roksanda Ilincic. Thus, it's safe to expect Buccini and Easley's own "fusion" pieces - prices will range from $10 to $200 - to be another iteration of their consummate cool-girl approach to style.

Target is continuing its collaboration love with a new retail concept, called The Shops at Target, featuring limited-edition collections from popular boutiques around the US, launching in stores this Sunday, May 6. There are five boutiques, to be exact, ranging from yummy sweets from SF's The Candy Store to charming housewares from Privet House in Connecticut. On the fashion front, popular Miami fashion boutique The Webster is bringing its penchant for cool designer brands to the masses with its own clothing collection. Priced from $8 to $50, the line, codesigned by The Webster owner Laure Heriard Dubreuil and Target, features tropical-printed dresses, short suits, and accessories inspired by Miami's Beach Art Deco and the store's iconic banana-leaf-print wallpaper. The results? A playful line of party and work-appropriate sheaths, cool colorblocked wedges, and fun beach totes.
