With rouge lips and heels to echo his bold red leather and pink color pairings, Thakoon honed in on a dramatic palette and rich detail to deliver a feminine Fall '12. We expect Thakoon Panichgul to veer toward the ethnically themed; this time, he steered clear of more exotic references to focus on a re-imagining of ladylike charm. Demure silhouettes were manipulated in patent, colored leather, ruching, and covered in rich hues of Mongolian fur to ensure that every look fell outside the boundaries of "pretty" dressing. There's quirk and humor in every take - a playful pop of print on the collar of a camel coat or a fuchsia fuzzy to complete a sweetheart-take on colorblocking. But if you don't subscribe to the girly-girl look, Thakoon's Fall is not also without sexier side; whether it's an overt nod to sex appeal with a black patent dress or a subtler play in a slinky black halter, there's a sense of womanly dressing even in all his girlish references.

Sneak Peek! Thakoon's Tantalizing Tasaki Baubles

Get ready to ogle. Thakoon's debut jewelry line for Tasaki is all about classic pieces with a funky, modern twist. "I really wanted to just go back to the DNA of what Tasaki’s about, which is beautiful pearls, beautiful materials and beautiful diamonds,” said Panichgul. "I wanted to put some youthful spirit into pearls.” That's exactly what he did, engineering fresh two-fingered rings, lusty lariat necklaces, and cunning chain link bracelets.

Thakoon's play on old-meets-new is beyond genius - I can easily picture a PYT like Diane Kruger or distinguished fashionphile Daphne Guinness donning these pearl rings. Thakoon's baubles aren't cheap - prices range from $5,577 to $39,041 - but a girl can always dream.

Ready-to-Wear Designers Delve Into Jewelry

It's raining baubles: Thakoon, Alice + Olivia, and Milly have announced expansions into jewelry.

Thakoon Panichgul has been swooped up by Japanese fine jewelry brand, Tasaki, to serve as its creative director. “My goal is to approach jewelry design in the same manner that I approach clothing: always move forward but respect the past,” said Panichgul.

Alice + Olivia received some help from jewelry extraordinaire, Karen Erickson, to design a limited-edition jewelry collection set to debut in Spring. The line, ranging from $278 to $393, is funky and modern - check out this rad leather floral bangle.

Milly designer, Michelle Smith, took inspiration from her Spring line to create Lucite necklaces, gold-plated bracelets, and colorful enamel cuffs. “From the time I was a girl, I was always into vintage jewelry. It is a passion of mine, so I thought it would be a great addition to the Milly collection,” said Smith. Her collection retails from $75 to $325, and will also launch in Spring. Bring on the bling!

Not bad for a newbie in the celeb modeling biz.Shot by Jessica Craig-Martin, the famous offspring laugh and play on the concrete steps at NYC's Morimoto restaurant while looking beautifully rough and tough.
