Beyonce Launches Sasha Fierce Collection

Beyonce's alter ego, Sasha Fierce, is making her way into the fashion industry with a new juniors clothing line called Sasha Fierce for Deréon. "The line really exudes a different side of my personality, which I am grateful that I can express," said Beyonce. The collection, codesigned with her mother, Tina Knowles, includes clothing, handbags, footwear, eyewear, lingerie, and jewelry - all described as over the top and inspired by Beyonce's Thierry Mugler concert costumes. That means a lot of large chains, mixed metals, studded shoes, and oversize sunglasses. Clothes include one-shoulder frocks, bodysuits, leather-like jackets, ripped jeans, and leggings. The line, wholesaling from $25 to $75, will be available come Fall at Macy’s and Dillard’s and specialty stores. Are you interested?

In-your-face, avant-garde fashion has made its way into the world of hip hop - Rihanna didn't always used to rock Rodarte laser leggings. In the Pon de Replay music video, she was more club girl than Karl's girl. Beyonce embraced gutsier costumes by enlisting Thierry Mugler as her creative adviser for her tour. And Ciara? As of late, she's been stepping out in daring leather pieces that rival Rihanna's. All three singers have got it going on, but who's more fierce?

What Beyonce wants, she gets. After falling smitten with Thierry Mugler's creations at the Met's Superheroes exhibition, the megastar enlisted the newly resurrected designer as creative adviser for her upcoming world tour. Mugler's not a one-trick pony. On top of designing bespoke outfits for Beyonce, band members, and back-up singers, Mugler will also direct lighting and choreography. This is sure to be Sasha Fierce sexy.

Fab Flash: The Return of Thierry Mugler

Thierry Mugler is rumored to be making a resurrection at the upcoming Paris couture week. The French fashion house recently launched a beauty line named The Art of the Metamorphosis and was best known for bold, S&M-like clothing with serious shoulder pads. Under the direction of artistic director Rosemary Rodriguez, the house will show 21 pieces at the couture shows set for June 30 to July 3. A big Mugler fan myself, I hope this revival does the fierce brand justice.

It also pokes fun at today's obsession with 15 minutes of fame and those blasted shutterbugs, aka paparazzi. Her BF, Swedish actor Alexander Skarsgård of True Blood fame (yum), attempts to murder the starlet. Little does he know what he's tempering. She bounces back to life in Thierry Mugler, hand hardware, and her infamous funky sunnies. She's quite alluring and caricature-like and - wait - is that Guns n' Roses on the sofa with her?! For those who haven't witnessed, I won't give away the end, but go Minnie Mouse!

I Want This Wardrobe: Sex and the City Movie

In case you've been MIA, the whole Sugar gang finally saw the Sex and the City movie. But don't worry, I'm not going to utter a word about the story line. What I am going to open my trap about are the wardrobes of the fabulous foursome, courtesy of Patricia Field. Almost all of Carrie's outfits were dead on and gush worthy, but it was a little strange to see Miranda always dressed up and accessorized. I guess she's grown up and now appreciates fashion! Because I'm Fab, I was instantly able to identify what each character was wearing as soon as I saw it. Not! Let's just say I have friends in high places who were amazing enough to share their wealth of wardrobe knowledge. And what an excessive amount of wealth it is - dive in!
