This time, pair yours with skinny denim, cargos, or leather pants, and forget the regulation-length pleats. For inspiration, we're looking to some of our favorite celebrity influences, like Natalia Vodianova, Nicole Richie, Olivia Palermo, and Jessica Alba who stepped out rocking their preppy versions with relaxed staples, casual layers, and femme contrasts in mini dresses and lace tops. This is exactly how we plan to wear the trend for Spring, letting our edgier separates play perfect opposites against the classic kicks.

On top, she kept herself cozy with a cropped black cape-like coat and black scarf, while on bottom she looked svelte in skinny ankle-zip jeans and gray suede lace-up booties. The outfit needed a splash of color and her purple Tod's satchel took care of that. Long, lean, stylish - love it.

Gwyneth Paltrow's hookup with Tod's for its Winter ad campaign was so successful, the duo teamed up yet again. Creative director for Tod’s Derek Lam said: "Gwyneth effortlessly embodies the spirit of the international woman with timeless elegance and modern flair - the perfect representation of the Tod's woman." Photographer Mikael Jansson chose the location, a restaurant in the heart of London’s financial district, because the honey and caramel palette complemented the brand. It's interesting to see Gwyneth so tan and preppy, because she's usually fair and funky. She looks healthy and happy. Do you approve of the latest Tod's ads? Gwyneth Paltrow's role in Tod's Pashmy Dream doesn't stray far from her reality. The short film, directed by Dennis Hopper, portrays, Gwyneth as a famous star in Italy. While interviewing with a dapper reporter, Gwyneth gets bombarded by the paparazzi and makes a run for it - ditching her precious Tod's Pashmy bag. The little adventure continues with the reporter chasing Gwyneth around town trying to return her Pashmy, all of course, with it casually slung across his shoulders. From the mystical flame blowers to the whimsical soundtrack, this mini movie makes for a fun six-minute break. Enjoy!

Gwyneth Paltrow is one of the few women who has the ability to make bright colors look as chic as black. Perhaps it's because she knows how to balance her loud hues with moody accessories. Soak in the actress's latest look in Milan. She continues her stylish streak in a vivid orange pleated Derek Lam dress, patent black slingback sandals, and a black patent Tod's bag.

Given the soft details - the ruffles and the pleats - you would expect the color of the dress to be peach or dusty rose. Instead, it comes at you in an unexpectedly bold way. My favorite detail is the off-center ruffles; they do a good job of making the girly trend less obnoxious. This look makes a big statement but maintains an air of seriousness. I say, if you're going to go color, go bright like Gwyn.
