A departure from the darker hues on the runway, the Fall 2012 Tracy Reese collection featured bright yellow, orange, and colorful floral patterns for next season. Even lighter shades of purple were played up on the catwalk. Fur accents and oversized sunglasses were seen on models, proving there is always room for a bit of fun even in colder weather. Need even more proof that street style is having a huge influence on the runways? Look to Tracy Reese, who went for what she calls an "accessible" look. That's not to say that the collection or beauty look lacked polish, though. Though the styles weren't overly complex, they were cohesive as a whole. It was a pocket full of posies for Tracy Reese today at her Spring runway show. Forming a juxtaposition between romance and sport, Reese created a colorful collection filled with pretty botanical prints and colors. Anorak jackets tempered feminine floral sequin tees and sweet bathing suit rompers, while peacock blue high-waist leather shorts added a modern edge to buttercup floral blouses. For dresses, Reese showed a range of styles from ruched body-con one-shoulder dresses to pretty, picnic-ready posy print dresses in a flowy flattering fit. Fluid palazzo pants and jumpsuits, lace inset maxi skirts, and our favorite, sheer striped linen dresses and skirts, further the languid, effortless tone. For extra flourish, Reese accessorized with structured statement hats from Jennifer Ouellette and even threw in a couple of throwback floral print umbrellas. So cute. "No matter the occasion, it is most important for a woman to feel great in what she is wearing," said Tracy Reese. That said, it's time for an exclusive look at her Plenty Holiday collection - we know; it's still Summer but the festive season will be here before you know it. The line, which Reese designed with the “party girl” in mind, shows off throwback '60- and '70s- inspired silhouettes. "The plenty collection is more youthful [than my signature line] with flirty silhouettes in gem tones," said Reese, who cited the classic black dress as her closet go-to. Regarding her use on prints, the designer noted: "I usually gain inspiration from my surroundings. Whether in New York or when I take trips to foreign cities, I am inspired by the people, architecture, and art that I encounter." Combining Runway Trends: The Boho Band Braid and Teased Hair

Two of this Fashion Week's most prominent hair trends were fancy bohemian-style braids and teased, high-texture hair, appearing at Rachel Roy and Tracy Reese (among other shows). I like both looks but wanted to combine them into something simpler to do and more wearable for the office. So I kept the braid's center part, but instead of doing a time-consuming wraparound, I just did two smaller band braids from the center. Then, I teased up the back of my hair with an Rsession Tools teasing comb ($13). What do you think? Is it a workable fusion of the two big trends, or do you think I should come up with a different way to put them together?
