For Fall 2012, Ann Taylor's head designer Lisa Axelson crossed the pond and took to the banks of the Seine, to the cozy-chic cafés of Montmartre, and to the gardens of the Tuileries. The result? An autumnal collection not only reminiscent of her travels, but also totally inspired by la femme jolie. Apart from the brand's signature animal-print wares (this time, in a digital dalmatian iteration), we spotted pretty peplum tops paired with colorful pencil skirts and patterned trousers with striped blouses for the Parisian girl on the go; '60s boxy gamine peacoats and styled and cropped fur capes with retro tweed separates fit for the refined fashionista; and an ethereal capsule of black-and-white wedding pieces for the bride-to-be. For Opening Ceremony's Fall 2012 collection, designers Humberto Leon and Carol Lim created a cozy collection inspired by the natural wonders of Patagonia. With a focus on textures and prints inspired by the great outdoors, the duo created a sporty luxe collection comprised of printed trousers, puffer coats, lace-inset sweatshirts, and body-con fleece dresses. Tempering the casual aesthetic were refined touches via leather trim, Mongolian fur, and metallic finishes. Meanwhile, the brand's accessory offerings ranged from round red sunglasses to chunky lace-up boots and chic printed loafers. The collection is definitely a slightly more mature take compared to their past collections, but nonetheless true to Humberto and Carol's whimsical cool style.
