Is it just me, or do celebrities tend to spill the beans while waiting for fashion shows to begin? First Rihanna, now R&B singer Usher slyly mentioning the launch of his lingerie line while sitting front row at the Marlies Dekkers show in Paris.

"You may have heard that I might be launching a lingerie line for men and women. Comfort and intimacy is very important," said the singer whose lingerie designs were featured in his new “Trading Places” video. How do you feel about the recent influx of celebrity hip-hop designers?

I officially declare 2008 as the year of the celebrity designer. Seriously, who didn't try their hand at fashion designing? Some granted rave reviews, others, well, you tell me. From reality stars to actresses to singers, these celebrities all had something to say about style this year. Nicole Richie offered up her affordable line of chic jewels, The Hills girl Whitney Port debuted her designing talent with Eve & A, and even LL Cool J grabbed a piece of the action with his Sears line! Avril Lavigne launched her junior apparel line, Abbey Dawn, for Kohl's in July.

Feathers and Hotties at the 2008 Victoria's Secret Fashion Show

Let the pajama party begin. Plumage, perfectly toned (and tanned) bodies, sequins, lace, and ruffles, and, of course, Heidi Klum, all make up the holiday cocktail known as the Victoria's Secret fashion show. Victoria's Secret ignored economic uncertainty with a full-blown lingerie love affair at Miami's newest hot spot: The Fontainebleau hotel. When asked about this year's show, Ed Razek, VS’s president and chief marketing officer said, “Quite candidly, I think people are looking for a little escape right now." While many a celeb and pretty face turned out for not one, but two runway shows, there was more than enough escape to go around.The show will air on CBS on Dec. 3., but we've got the sparkly splendor for you now. With Usher performing, VS angels Selita Ebanks, Adriana Lima, Doutzen Kroes, and Miranda Kerr strutted their hot stuff, as well as high fashion models like Lara Stone, Julia Stegner, and Behati Prinsloo. It was refreshing to see a couple classic faces like Carmen Kass and Noemie Lenoir, too. Whatever your fantasy, these girls wore an outfit to fulfill it. From bedazzled bras - Adriana Lima wore the the $5 million black diamond bra - to black lace bodysuits, cozy cuties, sci-fi getups, and dramatic wings, Victoria's Secret brought it full force.

Fashion Does Rock

Justin's on the cover, and there's lots more where that came from. The Fashion Rocks supplement, to get us all excited for the show Sept. 9, is packed with the freshest names in music and fashion. Beyoncé, Mariah Carey, Keith Urban, Rihanna, Chris Brown, Usher, Mark Ronson, Andre 3000, Pharrell, the Black Eyed Peas, and many more will visually fuse the two arts.

One of my favorite snaps thus far is this one Steven Meisel captured of Sasha Pivovarova and Dhani Harrison, son of Beatle George Harrison. I love their forlorn looks emerging from a pool wearing furs, bohemian layers, and floppy toques. “Sasha’s clothes have an Anita Pallenberg vibe, which I love. Anita is so cool. On Our Radar: Fashion Rocks Your Tube

I have been craving some good old fashioned fashion television, ie. House of Style, so I was thrilled to hear about Fashion Rocks, a star-studded night when fashion and music collide.

Here's what you can expect from the show, hosted by Jeremy Piven: performances by Aerosmith, Fall Out Boy, Fergie, Jennifer Hudson, Alicia Keys, Avril Lavigne, Jennifer Lopez, Carrie Underwood, Usher and Ludacris. A handful of other undisclosed "special guests" will also be present. Hopefully there'll be a rockin' runway production too!

Fashion Rocks airs on CBS on Friday, September 7 at 9pm Eastern time.
