Adele Talks Grammys Nervousness and Being "Quite Carefree" in Vogue

Adele lets her hair down on the cover of Vogue's March Power issue. The singer just won six Grammys at last night's show and performed for the first time since recovering from vocal cord surgery. Adele opened up about the experience of being forced to stop singing for a time, gave insight into her "big personality," and shared her nervousness about hitting the stage at the Grammys. Here's more from Adele in Vogue:

On being forced to stop singing: "I think if I hadn’t had my voice trouble, I would never have broached those subjects with myself. Now I just feel really at peace. And really proud of myself. I’ve never fully appreciated the things that I’ve achieved until now. In fact, my entire life has changed in the last ten weeks. I’ve never been so happy, and I love it."
On the public's perception of her: "I am quite loud and bolshie. I’m a big personality. I walk into a room, big and tall and loud. People think that I’m f*cking miserable, they are really surprised when they meet me that I’m chatty and bubbly and kind of quite carefree really. I’m the total opposite of my records."
On performing at the Grammys: "I’m nervous whenever I perform. But seeing that it will be the first time opening my mouth again onstage in front of my peers? I’m sh*ttin’ myself."

With millions of fans behind her back, the golden girl, recently recovered from throat surgery, shows no signs of slowing down. Vogue just added more fuel to the fire with the unveiling of Adele as its March cover girl, shot by Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott. With perfect wing-tipped eyes and sexy, voluminous waves, Adele emoted superstar status wearing a gorgeous citron and black lace dress from Oscar de la Renta, leather opera-length gloves, and strapped sandals. On Beyoncé: "She's been a huge and constant part of my life as an artist since I was about ten or eleven. I love how all of her songs are about empowerment. Even when she's married and Jay-Z put a ring on it, she releases 'Single Ladies.' Go get yours. Go get what you deserve. I think she's really inspiring. She's beautiful. She's ridiculously talented, and she is one of the kindest people I've ever met."

On making red-carpet appearances:: "I hate the red carpet. I don't feel insecure, I just feel like, Oh, I don't want to do this. I literally get a stomach cramp."

On her personality: "I am quite loud and bolshie. I'm a big personality. I walk into a room, big and tall and loud."

Taylor Swift Reveals Dating Rules, and Why She's Still Single, in Vogue

Taylor Swift's blue eyes pop on the cover of Vogue's February 2012 issue. She posed for photographer Mario Testino inside the issue, pairing a variety of high fashion looks with a guitar - see Taylor's style transformation over the years! She spoke candidly about her career trajectory, an upcoming album, and her high-profile romantic life. Taylor Swift has dated Jake Gyllenhaal, Taylor Lautner, and even fellow musician John Mayer. Taylor admits to healing her heart through songwriting, and revealed an "earth-shattering" breakup last year inspired her new record. Taylor said in Vogue:

Taylor on the future: "I fret about the future. . . What my next move should be. What the move after that should be. How I am going to sustain this. How do I evolve. I get so ahead of myself. I’m like, ‘What am I going to be doing at 30?’ But there’s no way to know that! So it’s this endless mind-boggling equation that you’ll never figure out. I overanalyze myself into being a big bag of worries."
Taylor on love: "I think I am smart unless I am really, really in love, and then I am ridiculously stupid."
Taylor's current relationship status: "I got nothing going on! I just don’t really feel like dating. I really have this great life right now, and I’m not sad and I’m not crying this Christmas, so I am really stoked about that."
Taylor on heartbreak: "There’s just been this earth-shattering, not recent, but absolute crash-and-burn heartbreak, and that will turn out to be what the next album is about. The only way that I can feel better about myself-pull myself out of that awful pain of losing someone-is writing songs about it to get some sort of clarity."

Charlize Theron Talks Stuart, Kristen Stewart, and More in Vogue

Charlize Theron wore a stunning silver gown for the cover of December 2011's Vogue, which will be available in the US on Nov. 22. The actress is out and about chatting up her upcoming movie Young Adult, which is the second collaboration from Juno writer and director Diablo Cody and Jason Reitman. Charlize spoke about working with Jason shortly after splitting from her boyfriend of 10 years Stuart Townsend. She reflected on what it's like being single for the first time in her adult life, and how she's now throwing herself back into work. Another of her projects hitting theaters in the coming year is Snow White and the Huntsman with Kristen Stewart, who Charlize raves about as well. Charlize said:

On making Young Adult after her split from Stuart Townsend: "I’d gotten out of a relationship, and I was in this really floaty place. My feet weren’t touching the ground. I just kind of turned to [Jason Reitman] and was like, ‘I feel like me again.’. . . [The relationship] was sinking, and I had to give it a fight. I really wanted to try and make it work. That was the priority. I wouldn’t do it any different way."
On finally being single: "I’ve never been single. This is the first time in my life. From the time I was 19, I’ve been in relationships, literally gone from one to the other within a month. . . . It’s been good for me. I’m a creature who’s really found her comfort zone in relationships. . . . It’s been nice to rediscover myself. I had to make a real conscious effort to do it - it’s hard. It’s much easier to lose yourself in flowers and cigarettes and coffee with somebody else."
On her Snow White costar Kristen Stewart: “She just turned 21. She’s a child. When I think about myself at 21, I had just done The Devil’s Advocate, and Keanu [Reeves] had paparazzi following him and Al Pacino said this thing to me: ‘If I knew that my life would be under this kind of scrutiny, I would have never become an actor.’ ” And I thought, Wow. I couldn’t comprehend it. . . . And Kristen is just living this to the max and still has a sense of humor about it. There’s this really lovely quality about her that just doesn’t give a f*ck. A lot of people say they don’t, but then they go home and cry and pop a Xanax. Kristen actually doesn’t give a f*ck. That’s what’s so refreshing about her. . . . I’m looking forward to killing her and taking her beauty. That’s what happens, right?"

Michelle Williams Talks Marilyn Monroe, Healing, and Being Single in Vogue

Michelle Williams covers October's Vogue, which hits newsstands on Sept. 20, and she's featured wearing the makeup, hair, and costumes from her upcoming movie My Week With Marilyn. The Marilyn Monroe biopic is out in the US on Nov. 4. Inside the issue, Michelle speaks about the process of making the movie. Michelle also touches on more personal topics, like how she and 6-year-old daughter Matilda are faring three years after Heath Ledger's death as well as some thoughts on dating. Michelle confessed to being single despite an apparent romance with director Cary Fukunaga! She said:

On getting older: "I feel like something has changed for me, but it’s a new change, so it’s going to be hard for me to describe. Maybe it has something to do with turning 30. I don’t feel as shy or nervous or self-conscious. I have more confidence that I can handle what life brings me. I don’t feel scared to have an idea and express it. I feel giddy about it because it’s a complete transformation. It’s like I’ve found my voice."
On gaining weight to play Marilyn: "Unfortunately, it went right to my face. So at some point it became a question of, 'Do I want my face to look like Marilyn Monroe’s or my hips?'"
On healing after Heath's death: "Three years ago, it felt like we didn’t have anything, and now my life - our life - has kind of repaired itself. Look, it’s not a perfectly operating system - there are holes and dips and electrical storms - but the basics are intact. . . . It’s changed how I see the world and how I interact on a daily basis. It’s changed the parent I am. It’s changed the friend I am. It’s changed the kind of work that I really want to do. It’s become the lens through which I see life - that it’s all impermanent."
On dating: "Relationships have always seemed very mysterious, and therefore worth exploring. I’m single, so it’s still kind of a mystery - a worthwhile mystery, one that I want to be on the scent of. . . . I’m not lonely, and I think that has a lot to do with what’s on my bedside table rather than what’s in my bed."

Kate and her now-husband Jamie Hince posed for romantic photos on their big day, and the magazine also features rare images of Kate with her daughter Lila - Kate usually goes to great lengths to keep her child out of the spotlight. Kate went on to speak about their wedding planner, Sam Gainsbury, and the 138 guests, 39 of which were kids, at their ceremony in Southrop, England. The couple apparently left the church to the Rolling Stones song, "You Can’t Always Get What You Want." Kate told Hamish Bowles about what motivated her and Jamie to tie the knot, her mild case of bridal fever, and more. She said:

On deciding to get married: "We were just so loved up, and he asked me to marry him every day. . . . [The show Big Fat Gypsy Wedding changed everything] . . . I am so romantic about gypsies. They’re not allowed to do anything until they get married. So they all get married really young, at 16. You can’t believe the dresses. They’re like blinging butterflies times 10; they can’t move down the aisle! It’s so genius. I was just watching Jamie, so cute, and I was like, these girls, they just spend their whole life waiting for that day - let’s do it!"
On staying in shape with jivamukti yoga: "They call it moving meditation. It’s loud, loud music, so it’s dynamic, not boring."

On needing her friends to get through the wedding planning: "Let’s put it this way. If I didn’t have my friends . . . I don’t know how people do it. Because you have to look at every piece of cutlery; the details are intense. And then you wake up thinking about the ballet shoes for the girls; is the satin ribbon right? I’ve gone mental. Jamie thinks I’m mad, asking, ‘Are you gonna be all right? After the wedding, I’m hoping you’ll get back to normal!'"

Her husband, Matthew Broderick, joined in on the accompanying photo shoot from Mario Testino, as did their three kids, James Wilkie, Tabitha, and Loretta. Multitasking SJP will be back on the big screen with September's I Don't Know How She Does It, and the subject of maintaining a family and a busy work life is one she's familiar with in real life. Sarah Jessica spoke about her and Matthew's views on raising children, in addition to what concerns her about raising toddlers while in her 40s. She also spoke about her love of acting, as well as how she's different from her iconic role of Carrie Bradshaw in Sex and the City. Sarah Jessica said:

On her and Matthew's approach to parenting: "We don't have any live-in help. We're pretty hands-on parents. That's something that's important to both of us, and we don't shirk it, because what's the point in having a family if you're not going to really participate in it, you know?"
On not being like Carrie Bradshaw: "Bradshaw's life is nothing - nothing - like mine. I loved playing her, and it changed my life in lots of wonderful ways, but I'm not a crazy shoe lady, I don't think about fashion all day long, although I have a great respect for the industry. Every choice we've made has been different."
On being a parent to twins in her 40s: "I guess I think there are things about it that I hope have made me a better mother. I've had a lot of opportunities to do the things that I wanted to do, like sleep. I have slept till 11:00 for a lot of years. Honestly, the only thing that I'm concerned about is the energy: I hope I can maintain the energy. I think about all the years I've spent parenting James Wilkie and everything I put into it, and there are two of them."
On her commitment to acting: "It's kind of all I've known. I'm a bitter-ender. It's potentially my fatal flaw that I do not give up on something. I will not rest. I work and work and work until I can no longer and someone has to remove me from the premises."
