I really love the colors that hvnly34 has put together here; the navy and sage together with citrus punch of orange make for an unexpectedly summery look that is still appropriate for her office. The pencil skirt and the cardigan look great on her - very professional! And the jewelry she's added give it a personalized twist.

This is a great work outfit! Savvy's workin' her look for all it's worth, showing off her curves and still keeping it sophisticated and conservative enough for the workplace! I love the high-waisted pencil skirt!

On Wednesday, I asked you guys to come fab finding with me for some affordable work attire to go with this Bow Pencil Skirt, available for $39.50 here. The only hitch was that no item could be over $50, but it still had to look expensive.
All I can say is, wow.

If you have a job where you have to dress up every day, it can really put a strain on your budget. I've gotten a number of requests lately for recommendations on affordable office wear, but be warned: If you scrimp too much, your clothes will look cheap. The key is wearing separates that are affordable but look expensive, then changing it up with jewelry, shoes, and other accessories.

Did you know YumSugar is also a good Samaritan? Today, she helped harvest veggies that will benefit the SF Food Bank. Before working hours, she put on her green thumb gear, including a pair of Keds, and got down and dirty for charity.

Seriously: shorts can be perfectly acceptable for work attire, as long as you have the right length, the right fabric and the right color. Newsjunkie80 proves this with her black bermuda shorts and fuchsia-infused top. The color of her blouse is great, and a little unexpected for the work environment - it definitely brightens the room and clears the air of a stressful office!
