Maloles Doctor Bag: Love It or Hate It?

Double The Look For Less: L.A.M.B. Bronze Woven Gala Sandals

I knew I had to have these L.A.M.B. Bronze Gala Woven Sandals ($325) as soon as I laid eyes on them. They're perfectly woven, and the crisscross detail is the cherry on top. Too bad they're too pricey to ever make it out of my wish list and onto my feet.

Betsey Johnson shoes don't come that cheap, but these Betsey Johnson Woven Fina Sandals ($175) are bearable. They are practically twins with the version above. But if they're still out of your price range . . .

Though they're not exactly the same, these Mikala Siena Woven Sandals ($88 ) still exude the same style. They are woven and have a bit of pearlized sheen to lend an air of sexiness.

Fabworthy: Sigerson Morrison Weave T-Strap Sandal

Nicolas Ghesquière's Spring '08 collection for Balenciaga wasn't all too wearable but it was all together stunning. One of the trends that blossomed from that show were the multicolored weave footwear. Nicole Richie already got her feet on the boots, so let's also get in on the hot trend with these Spring/Summer-ready Sigerson Morrison T-Strap Woven Sandals ($425). They have the same black-and-white woven motif but they're much more comfortable. Oh, and considerably less pricey . . . $978 less to be exact!

Trend Alert: The Weave

I have always been drawn to the weave. I think it's my lifelong adoration for Bottega Veneta (see amazing Spring wedge at left) and its luxurious woven leathers. Because Bottega has been around for so long, many copy cats have chimed in on the earthy motif. On shoes, this style is ideal - it's interesting, cool and slightly '70s - right up my alley.

Bottega Veneta is known for its intricately woven bags. Too bad it's also known for its steep prices, which go for $1000 and up. Even though this Bottega Veneta Metallic Knotted Clutch is on sale ($5,159, originally $7,700), it's still crazy expensive. It's beautiful, elegant, and will surpass time and trends. Now only if there were a cheaper but still well-made option. Wait, there is!

I have to admit: this Nordstrom Woven Silk Clutch ($88) was on my holiday wish list, but I loved it so much, I couldn't wait to have it...so I bought the black one last weekend. The weaving reminds me so much of Bottega. I especially adore the rhinestone clasp because it screams old Hollywood glamor. If you need a classy evening clutch, consider this one.

We all know by now that imitation is one of the highest forms of flattery. The pioneer of woven leather bags, Bottega Veneta, must have accepted this a long time ago. I am proud to announce that I own a Bottega. It is vintage, black and a long shoulder bag - and it screams easy luxe. It's my Saturday night bag a lot of the time because it just makes me feel alright. For those who have yet to score a new or vintage Bottega, there are less expensive options than the originator. Enjoy!

Dolce & Gabbana Hand-Woven Hobo: Love It or Hate It?

I am torn about this Dolce & Gabbana Metallic Hand-Woven Hobo that Lolipop89 posted in the Love It or Hate It? group. It could potentially work with a Summery beach ensemble, but I'm not so sure it's worth paying over a $1000 for a bag I can only wear during one season. Plus, it kinda looks like a fisherman's net. What do you all think?

Jason Wu Takes on Tse

There's more reason to love Wu now that the designer has taken on a new project: designing a capsule collection for Tse. “When she [Tse's CEO, Christina Peng-Gerschultz] asked me if I wanted to do a capsule [line], I thought, ‘This could be interesting,’” said Wu. “In many ways, I am probably the least expected designer to do this, because Tse’s aesthetic is so different from my own, but that’s one reason I wanted to do it.”

The collection will be comprised of woven and knitwear pieces dipped in colorful hues. Tse, who currently works with Wu on producing his knitwear pieces, will debut the Fall '10 limited-edition capsule collection in February during New York Fashion Week. Prices are TBD, but we do know the line will hit Tse stores in July.
