Fab Ad: Gap Design Editions, Summer '09

I was on the fence when I first peeped Gap's latest Design Editions team-up, but seeing its ad campaign has changed my outlook. Shot by Craig McDean, the shots feature models Raquel Zimmerman, Anna Jagodzinska, Arlenis Sosa, and Coco Rocha wearing khaki collaborations from Alexander Wang, Vena Cava's Lisa Mayock and Sophie Buhai, and Albertus Swanepoel. I love the fun, no-fuss fashion angle and the clothes - which retail between $40 - $88 - look cute and wearable.

The plain background allows the cool khaki creations and models' bright faces to take the forefront. Also, notice how each designer is posing alongside his/her designs. That way, we know who designed each item. Effective yet simple. What do you think?

Look Book Love: Zimmermann, Resort '09

After checking out its yummy resort presentation in NYC, I've been smitten with all things Zimmermann. Yes, the live show was amazing, but there's something about this look book that pulls me in even deeper. The dank, gritty lighting and hotel backdrop reminds me of humid Summer nights in Costa Rica and the swimwear is beyond amazing. I don't know any girl who could deny the brand's sexy cuts and tropical prints. I'm particularly taken with this batik-print bikini top - the charms are irresistibly fresh. Look what's come from down under? I know it's a little late in the summer to be talking about bathing suits, but I've just discovered Australia's newest brand to hit the U.S. and I'd never dream of holding out on you guys. So even if you are set for this summer, it's never too early to stock up for next season. Or...if you really can't wait a whole year, you can always travel to Australia in the winter since it's summertime there.

Anja Rubik is quite the popular cat these days. She worked a sequined mini in Giuseppe Zanotti's Spring ads, seriously rocked Kaufman Franco at the CFDAs, and now she's Gucci's girl for Fall, along with Raquel Zimmerman, Natasha Poly, Freja Beha Erichsen, Abbey Lee Kershaw, Myf Shepherd, Dree Hemingway, and Jacquetta Wheeler. What you see here is an orgy of fashion. So rock 'n roll chic. What do you make of all of this?

Fab Ad: Chloe Spring/Summer '07

Does anyone else want to be these hippie chic girls? She's not pictured here but the latest Chloe Spring/Summer ads also feature a brunette with equally shiny tousled hair donning the latest from Chloe. Representing here are the lovely Anja Rubik & Raquel Zimmerman. While I envision myself as the before mentioned brunette I guess one of these blond visions will suffice. The Chloe girls are the Versace girls come undone, or rather, on mushrooms.

What I love about this Fab Ad is the movement, the whimsy, the cool. One of the official new "It" bags, the Chloe Bay Bag, is in the spotlight. And the clothes? Ivory frilly blouses, milky studs and baubles, and fruit punchy hues. Groovy baby. What do you all think?

Wait - isn't Earth Day this weekend? Here's a Fab salute to the day of the green. One last note: that green eyeshadow? Lovely. Anyone want to take a stab at a how-to? I dare you!
