Art Elysium Red Carpet: Did You Love It or Hate It?

So the Golden Globes were a major downer. As you know, I am an optimist and there is always a red carpet for us to talk about. Such was the case with the The Art of Elysium 10th Anniversary Gala that took place Saturday night. While I'm sure some stars were bummed they didn't get to dress up and parade the Golden Globes red carpet, some shined on a lesser known red carpet. Nonetheless, this is only the beginning of awards season, stay tuned for the SAG Awards and the Grammys. Until then, make sure to vote on the red carpet looks from the Art Elysium gala!

Art Elysium Red Carpet: Ali Larter

Ali Larter is going Grecian here in her drop-waisted toga-esque J. Mendel dress at the Art Elysium Gala. She should have gotten it hemmed so we could see her shoes, and I am not so sure about this color on her, but I do think her hair and makeup is beautifully simple. What do you think?

Kate Walsh's Azzaro draped dress is sophisticated in the front, party in the back. The pewter color looks great on her and the back is damn sexy. Overall: are you feeling it, or is it a little short of breathtaking?

I'm a big fan of red on the red carpet but Amy Smart's ruched, strapless gown feels a bit old. I think she has too good of a body to hide behind all that material. Other than that, she looks classy and pretty. What do you think?

Rachel Bilson's white silk Dior by John Galliano gown is simple and glamorous. I especially love the ruched tie-front and her dramatic drop earrings. Many of Hollywood's biggest stars headed out to LA's California Science Center last night for the annual Heaven Gala thrown by the Art of Elysium, the organization dedicated to getting artists to volunteer their talents to help children battling serious medical conditions. James Franco was on hand to receive the Spirit of Elysium award for his dedication to the charity, and we snagged a minute with him on the red carpet before he headed inside for the cocktail hour - he confided that his preparation for hosting the Oscars with Anne Hathaway is going well. He's made the award season rounds after getting lots of critical love for his role in 127 Hours, but his personal faves of the year were The Town, Inception, and I Am Love. A Rodarte-clad Kirsten Dunst and a Zac Posen-wearing Rachel Bilson also smiled for the cameras, while Nicole Richie experimented with a bold '20s look - check out Fab's picks for the top 20 outfits of the evening! Rachel was feeling under the weather, but she still turned out to lend her name to a cause she told us is very near to her heart. Brad Goreski made a dapper appearance, and he mentioned that he's been super busy jet-setting around the world working on his brand new styling gigs. Jesse Tyler Fergusson and Jennifer Love Hewitt shared their excitement for tonight's Golden Globes, and True Blood hunk Joe Manganiello lovingly smiled for the cameras with his wife-to-be Audra Marie. Leighton Meester showed a little skin in her deep V sequined gown, but she had to skip out on the actual event, which included dinner and a Vogue-sponsored fashion show. Rachel Bilson, Kirsten Dunst, and Minka Kelly stepped up their fashion game last night at LA's Union Station in support of the Art of Elysium's annual Heaven Gala. Rachel, dressed in a frock from Chanel's Spring 2012 collection, arrived solo, though she later met up with her Hart of Dixie costar Jaime King, who was wearing Valentino. Minka selected a bright Oscar de la Renta gown for the occasion while actress Camilla Belle modeled a bold Carolina Herrera. Newlywed Molly Sims hit the red carpet with her husband, Scott Stuber, in a coral grecian gown. The mom-to-be posed with her hand on her growing baby bump and then stopped to share a hug with stylist Brad Goreski. Brad told us he's hoping all of his clients make the best-dressed list at tomorrow's Golden Globe ceremony, and he can't wait to return to NYC for the upcoming 2012 Fall Fashion Week.

Busy Philipps arrived in a beaded gown and told us the evening's ethereal theme inspired her final dress decision. Tomorrow she'll be accompanying best actress nominee Michelle Williams to the Globes and said she'll have her "fingers crossed" when Michelle's category is announced. Singer Estelle kept the crowd entertained during the celebration in addition to a vintage couture fashion show sponsored by Decades. The gala, celebrating its fifth year, was originally created to celebrate artists who dedicate their time to children battling serious illness. Kirsten Dunst, in a black Valentino, was previously recognized for her philanthropic work with the charity, and this year that honor was bestowed on The Hobbit's Elijah Wood. Elijah took the stage and thanked the organization, saying, "It has enriched my life to be a part of this tirelessly dedicated family and the lives of the children they've transformed."
