Ray-Ban's Iconic Aviator Redux

In an effort to revamp classic Ray-Ban eyewear, the brand is launching six new looks for the iconic Aviator. While the shades have become the habitual accessory of celebs, the brand is attempting to reestablish the edginess of the 60-year-old Aviator frames. The new styles, available in June, include the Ray-Ban Craft, Road Spirit, Tech, Titanium, Metal Glide, and the limited edition Ultra Gold, retailing from $139 to $495. While the Metal Glide and Road Spirit offer brighter-hued frames in fuchsia, yellow, and blue, the Tech, the Titanium, and the Ultra Gold lenses will include updates to the actual construction, like new carbon fiber and milled and gold titanium.

To celebrate these new "icons of eyewear" Ray-Ban's teaming up with icons of the rock music world. Tonight, Iggy & the Stooges join the brand for a concert at the Music Hall of Williamsburg in Brooklyn to relaunch the famous frames in rock-star style.

Call me kooky, but I always thought her name was Amelia Airhart - "Air" because she pioneered the friendly skies. Her actual name was Amelia Earhart, and I obviously have some learning to do. Good thing a biopic, starring Hilary Swank, is coming out this Fall. I'm a sucker for shearling, plaid, and fun eyegear, and aviator style is super cute. And easy to assemble - but flight goggles are key. You may recall flight of the aviator was a favorite New York Fashion Week Fall trend. Heads up! On-trend sky style heading your way.

After seasons of menswear items like leather jackets, blazers, tapered trousers, and suiting, I'm ready for a new incarnation. Shearling jackets, plaid, hoods, and slick contours glided down New York's Fall runways and I'm already on board. Charlotte Ronson often flirts with tough outerwear and vintage prints; this cute look can be easily emulated if you already have a plaid dress and sporty vest. Done and done. Celebrity Style: Paris Hilton

It seems this whole Paris-going-to-jail ordeal has done the socialite of all socialites some good. Well, good in terms of her fashion choices. Paris Hilton has been looking extra polished and primp as of late, and if it took her going to prison to make it happen, then I'm happy she was sentenced. She looks effortless here in her embroidered shirt dress and white-rim aviators. Now if only she can continue to look this fabulous while on lock-down it would be fab!

Cynthia Rowley Fall 2012

Deriving inspiration from craftsmen - mechanics, cobblers, and (much more obviously) leathermen, Cynthia Rowley's own Fall craftsmanship honed in on these artists with a succinctly modern and much sportier interpretation. Save for denim on denim suiting or brilliant colored leather, there's not too much literal interpretation, but rather a cool collection of womanly, curve-conscious design married with menswear-inspired structure. We're treated to bold all-over prints washed over body-skimming sheaths, skinny pants, and even gloves. And while a tougher, boxier leather jacket lined in shearling might pin point to Rowley's craftsmen influences, what takes shape is definitively feminine.

Trends: Colored leather, abstract prints, menswear.
Colors: Blue, black, maroon, orange, olive green, gray, white.
Key Piece: We love the printed pants, shearling-trimmed jacket and deep navy leather pieces.

Fab reader JustPatience inspired us to whip out our favorite pair of sleek shorts - Winter, take heed - for a super chic Fashion Week ensemble. She rocked a cool pair of navy polka-dotted shorts with a crisp white blouse. To take the look up a notch, she added a bejeweled collar necklace and a cream-colored fur jacket. Her suede midcalf boots, oversized red fold-over clutch, and aviator sunglasses were the final touches on this fashionista attire. It's fashion forward, but super comfortable too - exactly what we dress for during our hectic runway-ridden days.
