Will Smith sure has come a long way since his days on The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air. He's since become a huge movie star, but I still crack up every time I see a rerun of this show. Remember all of the crazy '90s fashions? Will in his Hammer pants, Whitney in her bod-con dresses, and young Ashley in her denim shorts - so cool. With a little toning down, their style can easily be translated into our world today.

Back to Cool: A Different World

The plot description for A Different World is, "A group of students at a historically Black university struggle to make it through college." Woah, heavy. But the tagline is, "Big laughs on campus." That's more like it. Maybe I was too young to pick up on the struggles, I just remember a group of young'uns making college look like a cool place comprised of interesting characters and funky wardrobes. I mean Dwayne Wayne's flip-up glasses? I totally forgot Marisa Tomei was on the show - I was too mesmerized by Lisa Bonet's great looks. It might have had after-school-special lessons, but it had mad style. It's a different world, from where you come from!

Back to Cool: Saved by the Bell

Hands down, Saved by the Bell was my favorite after-school show. High school couldn't look cooler with Kelly Kapowski, Lisa Turtle, and Jessie Spano. Of course, hotties Zach Morris (remember the huge cellphone he used to carry in his pocket?) and beefcake A.C. Slater provided hunky eye candy. And Screech, who could forget Screech? Loved him. I was only in grade school when this show debuted, so I could only dream of wearing Kelly's crop tops and Lisa's tight denim shorts - Jessie had legs for days in those washed out skinny jeans. The girls also fancied jean jackets, high-waist pants, and floral prints. Sigh, what I would do for a Freaky Friday experience with Kelly Kapowski circa '91 . . .

Oh Clarissa, how I've missed you. With a wardrobe of overalls, Converse, chokers, polka-dots, and totes, your style was slightly grungy but girlie. I envied it all. Besides her wardrobe, I especially loved it when Sam would climb into her room through her window. It made me wish my best friend lived next door, too.

If you tuned into FABTV a couple weeks ago. you knew this one was coming. "Cool Rider." Obsessed. I have a Fab crush on Stephanie Zinone - and apparently you do, too! Right on. But there's more where that came from in the camp classic Grease 2. One could argue the original is the best, but I go back and forth. The wardrobes are pretty even Steven '50s high, but the sequel was filmed in '82, so there's a slight '80s flair, via sporty sunnies and lamé luau garb. Let's agree, both are Fab - but I'd choose Michael Carrington over Danny Zuko any day . . .

I always appreciated Blossom Russo's haphazardly cool style. With partner in crime Six, the two ruled the early '90s in their funky floral hats, vests, crazy prints, and cool loafers. I especially adored Blossom's knack for wearing oversize blazers and mismatched outfits. Indeed, Blossom was in her own fashion world - who would have thought her styling tricks are some of today's hottest trends? Fun fact: Blossom, aka Mayim Bialik, left Hollywood to get a PhD in neuroscience from UCLA. Double awesome.

For the girlie hipster, peep UO's selection of mini-floral skirts and frocks like this cute moody print dress. Side note: Doesn't the model resemble Michelle Monaghan? Trippy. Hard-edge scenesters can revel in the tumultuous array of '80s-inspired blazers and printed body-con pieces. There's also an abundance of wicked footwear, including this dope cobalt pair from LD Tuttle for Colonial Madness. Really, there's something for every gorgeous girl out there - including Diane Kruger. The actress was spotted wearing a striped top and floral dress from UO earlier this week.

Hey Duuuuddde. Hey Dude was one of my favorite Nickelodeon shows in the early '90s. Melody, Brad, Ted, and Danny made rancher life look so cool. Their style was functional yet stylish - bandanas, plaid, polo shirts, denim - and I loved how Melody always wore cute jewelry and hair clips with her cowboy gear. Giddy up!

If your name were Mercedes in '80s high school, you would have been the talk of the town, too. License to Drive was a favorite Coreys movie, after The Lost Boys, and it was Heather Graham's foray into hot girl status. With her wild, blond, curly locks, Mercedes was absolutely adorable in her denim minis, pumps, party dresses, and jean jackets. No wonder Corey had a crush. With the byline "Some Guys Get All the Brakes," this movie had to be good. So good.
