A friend of mine is in a modern dance group and they're having their recital soon. She invited me to go, and though I'm excited to see her moves, I'm nervous about my outfit. The only other dance recital I've been to was my little cousin's ballet class.

I know I said ballet-inspired looks are happening but this is ballerina overkill! This Rampage Brocade and Tulle Ballerina Dress, on sale for $71.99 (originally $129), is too froofy and too pink if you ask me. Though it may make a killer Halloween costume one day...what do you think?

I feel pretty...Oh so pretty...I feel pretty and witty and gay...This ballet-inspired trend is definitely a pretty one. You all know I attended the Nutcracker last month and am a fan of the ballet. This trend will also spill into Spring 2007 ala Michael Kors.

We all know that pretty flats are hot for Fall, but I can't help but notice several other ballerina-inspired silhouettes traipsing into stores and fashion magazines—not to mention some shoes that look almost exactly like ballet slippers. The greatest thing is you don't have to look like a dancer to pull off these highly flattering styles. Here are some of my favorite ballet-inspired fashions this season.
