DSquared always amuses. Their hodgepodge style draws inspiration from some of the most random places. For Spring, the twin bros were inspired by the great outdoors. Camping, to be specific. Last season it was the paparazzi prone PYTs of Hollywood, and I loved the layering and cheeky accessories. There are fashion-loving girls who don't mind the dirt and insects that come with tough terrain, but when did trucker hats get cute again? Adversely, the plaids, cat-eye specs, Band-Aids, glittering bracelets, and bottles, are fabulous touches. The splattered purple dress is rugged chic at its best. Are you feeling it?

Fab's Going To Fashion Week! My Style Survival Kit

The countdown to New York Fashion week has officially begun! So obviously I'm super excited. What's more, Fab will be a guest blogger on ELLE.com! For real. This is big time ladies - and you'll have to check me out over there! While some of you are helping to conjure up some fabulous looks for me, I thought I could enlist your help in more pre-fashion week preparedness.

I have been gathering some survival items the past couple weeks and I just made a trip to the drugstore to stock up on some more. I thought it would be fun to share but also, let me know if I'm forgetting anything! As for my fashion week wardrobe and packing - stay tuned!

Here's what you see:

Adora dark chocolate calcium supplements; healthy and chocolatey snacks!
Good 'ol Emergen C (orange flavor).
FabSugar Look Book cards to help spread the word and promote Fabarrazi!
Band-Aids. Though I'm bringing mostly comfy (cute) shoes, it will be hot & humid and I'll be on the go = prime blister situation.
My new leopard print MZ Wallace tote! I wanted something big enough to carry my life around in, but something that would stand out in the sea of fashionistas.
My Miu Miu specs. Here's a Fab secret: I'm near-sighted.
Band-Aid Blister Block. Can you tell I've suffered from blisters before? They're the worst!
Cliff bars, Stride gum, Airborne, YSL lip gloss - all necessary to keep Fab going, and going, and going.
My Bottega Veneta business card case/wallet...in my signature color! And a hefty box of FabSugar business cards.
Last but not least, facial blotters. Again, signature color (no, I did not plan that).

Style For Style: Sweaty Feet Fix

I have these Theory Mirror leather sandals ($207) in pewter and have been wearing them to death - they are a great alternative to black shoes and the criss-cross style is very modern. But never have I worn them when I was in hot weather, and so, I recently found out they have a slippery inside. I was caught in this dilemma while living it up in LA at Hills' hangout Les Deux with PartySugar. I was so nervous slipping around in my shoes, I had to find a quick solution.

First I tried Band-Aids on the bottoms of my feet and, duh, they totally slipped around, too. Then, I remembered that bathroom attendants at such chichi clubs as Les Deux having everything you could possibly need. I was saved when the lovely attendant handed me some Johnson's Baby Powder ($5). A $5 tip and problem solved.

I recommend testing any new shoes in a warmer climate before going out. Walk around the house for a half hour when you're getting ready and if you feel any slippage, powder your feet. Rest assured, now you know you can definitely dance the night away.

Fab's New York Fashion Week Top 10

As the New York Fashion Week adrenaline has subsided, and another Emmys has come and gone, I finally had a few minutes to reflect...poolside. Here are some deep thoughts and a fun summation of my recent New York Fashion Week experience. In the end, there were fashion highs and lows, but I survived and boy was it fun.

Most Fab moment? Running around backstage at Alexander Wang! I found myself lost in a wonderland of models (who were illegally smoking in the stairwells!), pre-show buzz and I almost got Wang for an interview for you guys - Vogue stole him away!
Most Fab show? Betsey Johnson. Through my career I have made several attempts to attend a Betsey Johnson show and this was the first time it worked out. I had a Fab seat, in the second row, and the show was super fun and festive. Her political message (see collage) encouraging the fashionable audience to "Vote" was the icing on the BJ cake.
Most awesome celebrity sighting? Repeated sightings of the insanely handsome Nigel Barker, Ivanka Trump (I just love her), and Nicole Richie; both Ivanka & Nicole were at Max Azria.
Hottest handbag sighting: A maroon and black patent Balenciaga tote.
Most Fab pair of shoes spotted: Not that I would wear them, but these Burberry studded platforms, $940, are so badass in person; an Editor from ELLE was wearing them.
Number of Anna Wintour sightings: 4. Once standing solo on the sidewalk (gasp!).
Item I really want to buy (and can maybe afford) come Spring: The grey melange tailored coat I featured by Rebecca Taylor.
Thank god for my...Band-Aid blister block and BlackBerry Pearl!
Best goodie bag item: The most expensive face cream I've ever tried, that is questionably all the rage: Amatokin Anti-Wrinkle Face Creme. And yes, I will be sure to share a pea-sized amount with Bella.
Three favorite shows overall, fashion-wise: If I had to choose...3.1 Phillip Lim, J. Mendel and Rachel Comey.

Style for Style: A Foot's Best Friend

I have scars on my feet. I'm sure we all have some scars on our feet. Our feet are our tools for experiencing life, really. They take us through our day-to-day and beyond. They are important, they are precious. We should take good care of them! So the next time you're not sure if you can afford a pedicure, consider this your pep talk.

Many of us also have a shoe fetish and will sometimes splurge on a killer pair that we pray will not pinch and blister our precious feetsies. Alas, it happens. And when it does, it's good to always have a certain something on your person.

Moleskin, $5, is the best! The reason it rocks is because it is soft and nude colored and has adhesive on the other side. You can cut it to the size you need to protect either the back of your heel, side of your foot or wherever. You can also stick it to the sole of the shoe to prevent slippage. Overall, it's super handy and better than a band aid to prevent stingy blisters!

Celebrity Style: Becki Newton

Actress Becki Newton seems nothing like her catty character, Amanda, on "Ugly Betty." She just looks so sweet on this magenta carpet in her all-white outfit at "The Starter Wife" premiere. (Amanda would have opted for a skin tight band-aid dress!). But Becki looks ethereal and romantic in her ruffle frock with bell sleeves and matching pumps. Her tidy updo and minimal jewels round out the angelic look perfectly. In this innocent outfit, you'd never guess she plays an overly saucy character on the show.

Linday Lohan Is FabSugar's #1 (Today)

When I woke up this morning and saw this brilliant rainbow band-aid dress I seriously experienced heart palpitations. Needless to say, I was able to skip my morning cup of Earl Grey (I'm so hard core). Do you know who this dress is? I would bet my first pair of Chanel sunglasses it is vintage Herve Leger. The man who created bright and tight couture dresses that fit like a glove; it's no surprise his hey day was when supermodels ruled the world. I could not find this dress to buy, because it may be a one or three-of-a-kind, but I was inspired. Just when I was beginning to get a little bored of sequin and strapless dresses, Lindsay saved my day! Brava.
