Shoes have gotten really aggressive. Gladiator sandals, caged sandals, zippered shoes, Victoria Beckham's invisible dominatrix heels. Cool your jets! It was refreshing to see Lucy Liu, alongside Manolo Blahnik, in a pair of delectable twinkle toes. Just because every enviable Gwyn and Charlize is wearing tough-as-nails footwear doesn't mean you have to. An elegant cocoon-shaped Giambattista Valli dress is the perfect topper for the toe that glitters, but I say some rolled up jeans will do, too.

Fab reader JustPatience inspired us to whip out our favorite pair of sleek shorts - Winter, take heed - for a super chic Fashion Week ensemble. She rocked a cool pair of navy polka-dotted shorts with a crisp white blouse. To take the look up a notch, she added a bejeweled collar necklace and a cream-colored fur jacket. Her suede midcalf boots, oversized red fold-over clutch, and aviator sunglasses were the final touches on this fashionista attire. It's fashion forward, but super comfortable too - exactly what we dress for during our hectic runway-ridden days.

The Price of Anja Rubik's Jeweled Heels

Anja Rubik donned a playful, feather-covered Pucci minidress and hot pink bejeweled heels for the amfAR Gala in Cannes yesterday. While the outfit looks like an innocent - and very fun - party outfit, it's actually a seriously expensive endeavor: Chopard and Guiseppe Zanotti partnered to create Anja's shoes, which were covered with $180,000 worth of jewels. The heels, boasting diamonds, pink sapphires, rubies, and russellites, were auctioned off for $200,000 at the Gala. While we're not sure what Anja wore after her shoes were sold to the highest bidder, we're optimistic the leggy model still looked party-ready.

Instead of sticking to a strict palette of rich Fall shades this Thanksgiving, why not add instant glam with some metallic accents? Your tablescapes will truly pop when you pair those deep burgundies with a glowing gold, or a deep purple with a stark silver. Here are just a few ways to add the metallic look to your Thanksgiving tablescape.

Top on my Thanksgiving tablescape wish list is the Fornasetti Theme & Variations Decorative Plate #228 ($305, middle row, middle). The glamorous bejeweled variation of Italian soprano, classic beauty, and Fornasetti muse Lina Cavalieri is even more intriguing than many of his other images. It may be the nose ring that gives this particular image its unique charm. Imagine it used as a centerpiece for your Thanksgiving gathering.

Another true find is a recently added item to Design Within Reach's inventory - the Alma Allen Bronze Candleholder ($325, middle row, right). Limited to a series of 250, it's hand cast from solid bronze by Joshua Tree designer Alma Allen. No two pieces are exactly alike, but you can be assured that this is an heirloom piece. I'm also adoring the look of the Indian Brass Resting Deer Statue ($550, bottom row, middle). Keep the Indian theme going with marigold floral arrangements and batiked napkins. And if you're looking for a more affordable version of this deer, you can find them on Etsy or at flea markets for a much more reasonable price point.

Talk about timely! Kelly Ripa and her Live With Regis and Kelly guest host Nick Lachey got into the Halloween spirit with pop culture inspired costumes for the show this morning. They dressed up as Kim Kardashian and Kris Humphries on their wedding day, which ended up being a bit strange since the duo's divorce was confirmed just hours ago.

Kelly wore an elaborate gown with a bejeweled headpiece and a dark wig while Nick had a little help from stilts to get to Kris's 6'9" frame. The elaborate looks were just the beginning for Kelly and Nick, who also dressed up as Kate Middleton and Prince William as well as a pageant contestant and Charlie Sheen. They even had a stand-in for Regis Philbin - Heidi Klum got into character as the talk show host with a suit and manly makeup.
