New York Fashion Week Trend Alert: Quirk

I have come to realize that the trends are really all over the map for Spring. Which is cool, because this means we'll have variety and designers are doing their own thing, whether the outcome is good or bad. One direction a lot of designers did go was quirky. Whether they went the art route, like at Malandrino, the mad route, like at Marc Jacobs, or stepped slightly out of their comfort zone, like at Rebecca Taylor, quirk is the way of the Spring.

I can't refuse a cool fashion book. Remember the Net-A-Porter notes book that was all interactive and even had little stickers? Here's another collector's item, especially for you Chloe Sevigny fans. Last night, Sienna and her sister Savannah launched the debut Spring 2008 collection of their line Twenty8Twelve. The inspiration for the new collection? "Patti Smith, Keith Richards, free-thinking, radical people who aren't influenced by others," Sienna told Instyle.

Guests like Anne Hathaway, Lily Donaldson, Agyness Deyn, and Rachel Zoe mingled with the Miller sisters atop the Gramercy Park Hotel in New York City. Wish I could have been there...
