Who Was the Most Fab Designer of 2007?

This morning one of the Pop girls declared: "I can't believe it's December." It always seems to creep up on you - the end of the year, that is. Alas, time flies when you're having fun! And fashion is just that. But it is time to decide which designer gets the Fab crown for Most Fab Designer of 2007. Last year, Phillip Lim won, and he has made great strides this year - maybe we sent him some good vibes.

I present to you the candidates for Most Fab Designer of 2007. Chanel is a crowd pleaser and red carpet stunner. Karl continues to reinvent the house, for both ready-to-wear and haute couture, and the accessories inspire and intrigue. Balenciaga, led by wünderkind Nicolas Ghesquière, is edgy, innovative, and a leader of the pack. The piped blazers from the Fall collection launched a thousand look-a-likes, and now Ikat prints are all the rage. Roberto Cavalli is a designer with gusto, one who doesn't follow the trends and always stays true to form - sexy, colorful, and glittering party looks. His collection for H&M was possibly one of the most coveted H&M designer collections yet. Alber Elbaz for Lanvin can do no wrong, from fluid tailoring to jewel-toned dresses. Everyone is wondering what this humble designer will do next. Lastly, the young and restless Alexander Wang. He's the BFF of models and Hollywood darlings. His streetwise style appeals to cool trendsetters. Nuff said. So . . . who has your vote?!

Who Is The Best Shoe Designer of 2007?

As a girl with a fabulous collection of footwear rivaling that of Imelda Marcos (okay, maybe not), it was difficult for me to narrow down the choices for this year's shoe designer of the year. But alas, I have my top five: Nine West, Jimmy Choo, Kors by Michael Kors, Brian Atwood, and Christian Louboutin. Some of these I regularly wear, some of these I aspire to wear. Whose shoes rocked your feet this year?

Best of 2007: Most Fabulous Shoe Designer

I think we can all agree that Christian Louboutin is the best shoe designer of 2007. He won the poll by a whopping 76 percent and the man behind the signature red soles deserves every single vote. I mean, he provided damn sexy footwear, like this Blue Suede Platform Pump ($660), to practically every actress in Hollywood and anybody else who could afford it. In 2007, where there were feet, there were Louboutins. Cheers!

You voted Nicolas Ghesquière for Balenciaga for best designer of 2007. After much deliberation, Fab's vote goes to Alber Elbaz for Lanvin. It was a very tough decision, but I think we can all agree that the Fall collection teased a little something and the Spring collection was a full-blown fashion orgasm. We can't wait to see what's next for the house of Lanvin. One thing we know for sure: More retail stores and product expansions are on the horizon.

Best of 2007: The It Bag

This was a tough one for you all, but in the end, Balenciaga prevailed. I am all about Yves Saint Laurent these days but that shouldn't come as a big surprise considering we gave away a YSL Tribute last week. My reasoning? Yes, Balenciaga is great and Chanel is amazing, but YSL really stepped up their handbag game this year and gave us more than a few delectable options: Tribute, Muse, Downtown, and Uptown. S'il vous plaît!

2007: The Year in Color

Taste the rainbow: that seemed to be 2007's mantra. Yellow, fuchsia, and cobalt blue surfaced this Summer, and orange, red, turquoise, purple, green, and even white are carrying the wave into Fall and Winter. As the fascination with vivid brights trickled down from runway to real way, The Hills girls Lauren Conrad and Whitney Port both picked up on the trend, while Beyonce looked straight from Oz in her emerald gown, and Rachel Bilson rocked a turquoise minidress. Learn it and love it, ladies: color will be the way of life come Spring 2008.

For better or for worse, 2007 was quite the year for controversial red carpet looks. Heidi Montag in her nightie-inspired dress; Posh in zebra print and hot pink; Hayden in a poofy peach confection; Ellen Pompeo and her Sci-Fi neckline; and Paris' slinky leopard dress all made the top five eyebrow raising looks. Who Had The Best Sidewalk Style This Year?

There's a major difference between red carpet style and sidewalk style: Celebrities are pretty much on their own when it comes to the streets. These five ladies, Katherine Heigl, Kate Hudson, Ashley Olsen, Lindsay Lohan, and Rachel Bilson, all took their unique styles to the sidewalks, showing the world what they, not their stylists, are capable of. Katherine mainly showed us girly casual pieces, Kate did fabulous outerwear, Ashley stuck to avant-garde, Lindsay kept it trendy, and Rachel stayed loyal to her scarves and boots. What Is the Best New Trend of 2007?

Trends come and go, but the following stood out this year: the return of color, menswear, sheer bliss, global chic, and art school. Lanvin was one of the designers who spearheaded the revival of bold colors; Ralph Lauren deliciously dabbled in menswear; Calvin Klein went sheer madness; Etro embraced tribal motifs; Diane von Furstenberg attended art school. All these trends have staying power but which do you think is the best new trend of 2007?
