Fab Finding Follow-Up: Cruisin' on the Boulevard

Me and my banana seat cruiser had a nice long ride on the Boulevard last weekend. Wardrobe malfunctions are one of the imminent dangers of bike riding so I needed your help in finding an equally fashionable and functional outfit.

I started you off with this sporty Versace Small Darling Convertible Tote ($3,330) because the shoulder straps can be buckled at the base for backpack wear. That will definitely keep my hands where they're supposed to be - on the handles!

Kate Hudson and Ryder Take Their Bikes For a Spin on the Beach

Kate Hudson and her son Ryder hopped on their bikes near the beach in Santa Monica yesterday. Ryder sported sunglasses and a helmet while Kate covered up in a hat as they rode around side by side. It was just the latest sunny outing for Kate following a getaway to Mexico earlier this month. Kate's bikini body was on display as she lounged poolside with fiancé Matthew Bellamy, who soaked up the rays while wearing a bathrobe. 2012 hasn't been just about downtime for Kate, though, since she participated in a live reading of her mom Goldie Hawn's movie Shampoo with Bradley Cooper last month and is gearing up to start shooting a new film, Everly, this Spring.

Kirsten Dunst and Garrett Hedlund Couple Up For a Bike Ride

Kirsten Dunst and Garrett Hedlund took to their bikes for a ride near her LA home yesterday. They practically matched in their gray sweats, but the outing wasn't all about exercising - Kirsten also put posters up to publicize her cat's disappearance. Kirsten and Garrett are together in California after spending a few days last month in Utah. They headed to Park City for the Sundance Film Festival premiere of Bachelorette, Kirsten's new dark comedy with Isla Fisher, Lizzy Caplan, and James Marsden. Garrett skipped the red carpet, but he and Kirsten were seen getting close at the afterparty. It seems the couple got together at some point last year after meeting on the set of On the Road. Both Kirsten and Garrett star in the big screen adaptation of the classic Kerouac novel, which also features Kristen Stewart and Tom Sturridge.

No-Sweat Ways to Burn 100 Calories in 30 Minutes

Sometimes you just don't want to sweat. Or you're so exhausted from the week's workouts that you can't give it your all. You can still burn a decent number of calories with some low-impact activities. Here are a number of no-sweat ways to burn 100 calories in 30 minutes.

Walking: Stretch your limbs and breathe some fresh air without the hard impact that comes from running. Walking at a leisurely pace (about three miles per hour) will burn 103 calories in 30 minutes.
Pilates: Pilates can definitely make you sweat (staying in Plank position isn't exactly easy), but it's a good option if you aren't in the mood for a heart-pounding workout. A 30-minute beginner Pilates class will help you burn 109 calories.

The Best Indoor Workout Classes (Because It's Freezing Outside!)

We are pumped to share one of our favorite stories from Self here on FitSugar!

There are lots (and I mean, lots) of reasons why my motivation to work out during the Winter plummets - from the snowy commute to freezing cold winds to the cold, dry air that hits my chest with such force that it becomes hard to breathe. (Ahem, there's a reason I sign up for races that are after September - this born-and-raised Floridian prefers to train outdoors during the Summer.)

But it is possible to sculpt, strengthen, and sweat (majorly sweat) without having to be freezing cold during the winter. So when the weather outside is frightful, head indoors for these top full-body workouts that will help ward off Winter weight:

Indoor cycling: Ruth Zukerman, cofounder of NYC's FlyWheel cycling studio, is heating things up indoors with her 45-minute, heart-racing classes. (Self favorite Jillian Michaels is even a recent investor in the company). "I wanted to be part of the most innovative and effective indoor cycling program, and that is FlyWheel. I am thrilled to join the FlyWheel team," Michaels said in a press release. What makes cycling such an effective alternative is that it's taking the fun full-body workout people love indoors, and instead of scenery, you'll stay motivated to challenge yourself thanks to encouraging instructors and a killer playlist. Flywheel has an awesome on-bike technology board that lets you compete against other riders in the class. Plus if you're looking to shape up before hitting the slopes, "indoor cycling is great preparation for all Winter sports, especially skiing and snowboarding. I know from personal experience that when I hit the slopes I don't tire out easily or suffer from the kind of après-ski muscle pain that most people do, and it's because of indoor cycling," Zukerman says.

Try this move: If you're riding an exercise bike at home or the gym, try some interval training. One thing we often do at Flywheel is a "Sprint Chorus," meaning we increase our RPMs to a sprint during the song's chorus and then revert to a cadence on the beat of the music as the chorus ends.

How to Ease Back Onto Your Bike

Now that the weather is warming up, are you getting back into a sport that wasn't suited for colder days? My Memorial Day weekend activity of choice was biking, and let me tell you, it was good to get my biking muscles in motion again after such a long Winter!

But just like any other sport, it's not all sunshine and roses when you go from zero to full steam ahead . . . literally. I hopped on my bike and ended up going on the longest, steepest route. Needless to say I learned my lesson. Here are some primary annoyances (and lessons learned!) from my bicycling excursion this past weekend.

Pump it up: As soon as I hopped on my bike, I realized the tires were low in air since my bike hasn't moved in the past three to five months - fail. It's always good to have your own portable compact air pump. That way you aren't stuck having to find a gas station or bike shop. And if your bike is extra special, you'll have all the pump attachments you need when you want to go for a ride.
Get out your screwdriver: Without revealing too much of my bike flair, I have - ahem - some bells, and other accessories adorning my bike. As soon as I took off for my bike ride, everything started to move around and almost fell off! Note to self: quickly take a screwdriver to all of your bike's gear to make sure things are tightened up after sitting all Winter long.

Jack Johnson Breaks From Tour to Ride Bikes With His Son

Jack Johnson and his son were spotted out riding their bikes in Oahu on Thursday. He and his wife, Kim, and three children live on the Hawaiian island, where Jack was born and raised. He's hanging around near home during a break from his world tour since he was forced to cancel the remainder of his Japan appearances due to the earthquake. The singer will be back on the road in May though, to play in South America, Spain, and Italy. Jack's travels mean that the annual April music festival that he and Kim founded will be put on hold this year, after six successful events.
