Who is this matron and what has she done with the sassy Mischa Barton? I've always known that Mischa is capable of making fashion faux pas, but this is pure insanity! At the Closing the Ring UK premiere, it appears the actress is having an identity crisis.

The only thing I applaud Mischa for are her studded, Louboutin Mary Janes. Other than that, I'd save the bow-tie blouse for a luncheon and the poofy black-taffeta skirt for a Halloween costume. She should have simply chosen a more age-appropriate dress. Perhaps she can take some pointers from her former O.C. co-star Rachel Bilson.

Last week I showed you a debatable bow tie blouse, and I'm still on the fence about this style in general. Maybe you can all convince me to love bow tie blouses. They are definitely in masculine-feminine turf, and I love a perfect bow now and again, but something about them makes me feel...claustrophobic. I dunno. Obsessed With . . . the Tuxedo

When our evening style sensibilities crave something a little more snappy, we look to the tuxedo. Tuxedo looks dominated the Fall runways at Jason Wu, Tibi, Dolce & Gabbana, and Moschino, then on sharply dressed celebs like Olivia Palermo and Evan Rachel Wood. Not that the tux is new on the scene; we owe it to greats like Marlene Dietrich for making the menswear evening staple a glamorously cool option for us girls. With holiday season approaching, and with it, a bevy of parties, we totally plan on utilizing the look via slim black trousers, tailored suit jackets (leather lapels optional), and blouses with crisp contrast piping. If we're feeling particularly snazzy we'll finish the look with a playful bow tie and a classic pair of heels to counter all the boyish charm.

2011 Fall New York Fashion Week: Yigal Azrouel

Nine a.m. was an early wake-up call for Yigal Azrouel's Fall 2011 showing, but those who made it were given a instant jolt of energy thanks to the designer's cool and colorful menswear inspired collection. The line was all about "celebrating the strength and power of artistic femininity," which Azrouel expertly exemplified through wool cropped boy pants, oversize knit "tail" tops, pleated bib blouses, and covetable coats. Bright splashes of color - we especially loved the bright mandarin orange and cobalt blue - were tempered with neutral hues giving us just the right amount of pop for Fall. There were also details, like tuxedo stripes, leather trim, and cute custom bow-ties, which furthered the boyish theme. The outwear was also a force to be reckoned with: classic herringbone coats, leather and fur jackets, and streamlined oversize blazer toppers will be chic and cozy options come next Fall.
