LA Fashion Week, Fall 2008: The Lauren Conrad Collection

As we hoped, Lauren Conrad stepped up her game for her first runway showing and Fall collection for The Lauren Conrad Collection. And, to our excitement, all her friends were there to share in her glory.

In the front row sat Whitney, Audrina, Lo, Kristin, Brody and Frankie - all giddy and excited to be at Smashbox Studios. FabSugar was on the other side of the runway amidst Lauren's family (funny huh?). We sat next to her grandmother and had some words with her mom and sister. They were very proud and thought the show was fabulous. When asked what her sis's favorite piece was, she said the strapless ivory ruffle dress (pictured) - very cute indeed. Very Lauren!

The French flair - berets, leather gloves, and chic pumps - added a certain je ne sai quoi to the collection, and helped create the girl Lauren is trying to convey. These pieces were an improvement from what we've seen from Lauren thus far; some were the casual cute pieces we know, some were form-fitting and flirtatious and will want to get to know. The palette was autumnal: ivory, terra cotta, plum, olive green, and there was plenty of black, Lauren's self-proclaimed favorite color. High waisted skirts, a zippy botanical print and lace were new additions. Let's put it this way: there was less bubble and more bodacious.

These are clearly clothes Lauren and her posse want to wear so my question is: Do you want to wear them too?

Alas, another season of The Hills has come to an end. I was pleased with last night's episode - it left us in a good place with the tormented and beautiful characters we have come to love and hate. Though it was predictable, LC is finally off to Paris to sew her fashion oats! And Heidi and Spencer are officially on the outs. But maybe LC and Spencer are, too? Time will tell. After last week's episode of The Hills I was starting to move on. But this week gave us an array of things to talk about. As I was wondering, Brody is back in the picture but to Lauren's dismay, not sure where the romance between them is going. But hello? Lauren, you need to be a little more forthright with your feelings. Heidi and Spencer continue to battle it out, and the sister in the mix doesn't help. And Audrina has a new flame. Good. Farewell Justin Bobby! Next week is the finale, so be sure to take our second to last fashion quiz of the season.

I think The Hills is winding down. I say this because last night's episode was a bore. Well, if you exclude the twenty minutes of predictable drama between Audrina and (loser!) Justin Bobby. I'm sorry but I don't enjoy the show when it's just back-to-back drama - there wasn't one scene at the Teen Vogue offices. Oh well . . . but we did get some Brody action; way to step in and help out LC when Spencer's sister was getting all up in the mix. Yay for Brody! Amidst the negativity, did you pay attention to the fashion?

Last night's The Hills was one of my favorites because it was less about boys and more about what we crave: fashion. And boy did LC and Whitney look stylish on their quick trip to NYC. Whitney's saucy sweetheart dress wowed everyone, including Lisa Love...and that's no easy feat. Oh, and did you notice that LC wore Black Halo's Jackie O dress in grey? Of course, there was some action between LC and Brody but that was only a side dish. I hope we get more fashion entrees in upcoming episodes. FABTV: Behind the Scenes at Op's PYT Photo Shoot

"Beautiful, gorgeous." If I had that yelled at me during a photo shoot on the beach in Malibu, I would be having fun too. Meet the posse of Op's "Summer of Music" ad campaign. AnnaLynne McCord, Sophia Bush, Solange Knowles, Joel Madden, Brody Jenner, Cody Linley, and Bow Wow got together on a not-so-warm day to act the part of pretty young things. This behind-the-scenes video shows group shots being snapped as well as a faux Good Charlotte concert. Everyone seems to really loosen up at the concert and have genuine fun - especially hottie Sophia Bush. 90210 vixen AnnaLynne McCord stated, "It’s a fun shoot to get together with all these actors and entertainers and get to do something where we are having a good time and be in fun clothes. I love the pink bathing suit and the little t-shirts and shorts, they were my favorites from the shoot." I love the pink bathing suit too . . .

Sneak Peek! Lauren Conrad's Summer in the City Collection

Is it me or does Lauren Conrad come out with new collections faster than you can say "Brody Jenner"? I'm not doing the hard work so she can keep it coming as long as she likes!

Her Summer in the City collection is not vastly different than the Spring line - shocking, I know! - but it does have some cute pieces. You'll continue to find jersey dresses, but also in the mix are butterfly prints, ruffles, bows, and an adorable strapless jumper (left) that I'm eyeing.
