Behind the Seams: Fergie's Shoe Debut in Vegas

Fergie's bag collection with Kipling has been well underway. Now, the blossoming star and fashion designer is giving another favorite accessory a go. Yesterday - in a Dolce & Gabbana sheath - she unveiled a shoe collection with Brown Shoe in Las Vegas at the WSA Show.

From what I can see, styles range from sassy and colorful platforms, cool gladiators, exotic sandals, and sporty kicks. Looks like Fergie took a survey of her shoe collection and applied it here. Fergie sat front and center at the mini-runway show and everyone looked pleased - especially her.

As the style-setter put it, "I have always loved fashion because it's a great way to express your mood. And I'm definitely a shoe lover. The right pair of shoes can change the feel of an outfit, and even change how a woman feels about herself. A woman can wear confidence on her feet with a high stiletto, or slip into weekend comfort with a soft ballet flat."

Amen to that. Fergie's shoes will debut in Spring '09 - are you looking forward to wearing some Fergalicous pumps?

2010 Spring New York Fashion Week: Vena Cava

Vena Cava always does things a little differently. Both in show presentation and clothing inspiration; that's why they are a growing fashion force. Vena Cava was at Milk Studios - where numerous designers are showing this time around - and I arrived promptly on time because I heard rumblings the designers were doing a runway show in lieu of their usual presentation style. They did both. It started as a runway show, models perched themselves around and on ladders, then it turned into a presentation - the best of both worlds. The Fiery Furnaces performing live were an awesome accompaniment to the modern, exotic collection. From marbelized prints, to laser cuts, to hints of skin, Vena Cava loves to play. But in a very sophisticated manner. A dress may be baby doll, but it's far from goo-goo-gaa-gaa in a sexy black-rayon jersey and metal safety-pin camisole. The palette was moody - black, brown, grays - but a punchy orange saved it from somber. The orange cupra jersey asymmetrical dress made my heart skip. Lisa and Sophie, the hotshot design duo, continue to experiment with separates. Dresses are always unique, but skirts, jumpsuits, shorts, busters, leggings, and tees were thrown into the mix. Accessories weren't forgotten; stylist Kate Young completed looks with Persol shades, Robert Clergerie shoes, and Elsa Peretti for Tiffany & Co. jewels. Vena Cava - where there's smoke, there's fire.

Why, hello there Mr. Crawford. The gossip boy looks beyond dapper in a pair of slacks, button-up shirt, and tailored vest. Take note of how the young style prodigy chose varying shades of gray to mix up his monochrome look. Brown suede shoes, red watch, and mischievous grin is all he needs to shine.

Fab Ad: Jimmy Choo Fall '09

While we anxiously await Jimmy Choo's H&M collab (awesome!), we can feast on the shoe empire's Fall ad campaign. Angela Lindvall is back for another round of the good life. This time she's in a fabulous yacht cabin, dripping in Choo's sharp shoes and accessories against rich, brown hues. Her tousled shagadelic 'do adds to the sultry vibe. The boot of the season - the over-the-knee - makes a not-surprising cameo. I can't get these turquoise zebra ankle-wrap sandals out of my head so I guess the ads are working their magic.

Look of the Day: Sweet Thang

Ruffles are sweet. AlphaChickee is wearing ruffles. Therefore she's a sweet thang! You like my logic? But this Fab reader knows that too much sweet causes cavities, so she balanced her ruffles with a thick leather brown belt. Well done.

These Zucca Fringe Shoes ($710) might look like strange little animals but I have to admit I'm kinda smitten. Besides the overbearing price tag, these unique fringed sandals are the perfect warm weather companions - and you don't even have to feed them! Which Stylin' Cannes Brad Do You Prefer?

Oh, Brad. If there were a male peacock at the Cannes Film Festival, it would be Brad. While we were loving or hating the ladies' red carpet looks, Brad was suiting up in Tom Ford. He worked a pastel suit for the Inglourious Basterds press conference. This reminds me of his stellar wardrobes in the Ocean's movies - so slick. His taupe scarf and brown loafers were fun grandpa-gone-glam touches. Later, he went all-out tux for the red carpet. The tuxedo stripes down the sides of the pants add some shine, a white ascot is quite dapper, and I love black patent leather shoes on men. Both times he donned fresh aviators. I'm dying to know: which stylin' Cannes Brad makes your heart flutter?

This week's Look Book featured a handful of your warm-weather outfits. My favorites include feather hot, hat girl, ruffled wonder, short shorts, dotted hottie, and blue suede shoes. Instead of wearing black or brown shoes, hanako66 wore blue ones to match her skirt. Cute!
